Argh!! How do you do a deliberate foul?

I just lost a game to the bucks because I couldn't foul at the end to put them at the foul line. I was only down 1 with 6 seconds to go. Why didn't I figure this out before hand. OMG, I had won 4 in a row... actually, I've won 4 in a row twice and the first 4 game winning streak ended the same way, when i was down 2 to the heat and i didn't foul then either so really, i could have potentially won 10 in a row now!

paul pierce was on fire in this game too - he had 41 and hit a 3 down the stretch to make it as close as it was.

so how do you foul? and can you make your whole team foul?

Tap the playcall button. Signals intentional foul.

Isn't it in the manual? I haven't checked.

There's no "push" button, though. "Take charge" replaced it.

there is no foul button, switch to intentional foul play or you can just use turbo and run your man over.

i didn't notice any playcall option for it nor did i see it in defensive strategies. can someone explain the exact method for this.... there is just the option to run over someone but that doesn't always work and it would be nice if my whole team could be within the mindset of intentional foul. the cpu controlled opponent's do it down the streach if necessary so the cpu controlled players on my team should do it also!

when you need a foul, just go to STRATEGY > TEAM STRATEGY > and put Defensive Strategy to Intentional Foul

or go the STRATEGY > TEAM STRATEGY > DEFENSIVE STRATEGY > and change one slot to intentional foul and remember what slot # it is. resume the game and when your opponent has the ball, press 1-4 depending on the slot # you put, then they foul them.

What is unclear about this? What else needs explaination. Click as if you were going to call a play, and release it quickly without calling a play.

I mosy play CPU vs. CPU. Would I check the intentional foul under team strategy so the players would foul late in the game or would the players foul all the time? 2001 seemed to foul intentionally at the right time. I hope it is just a permanent setting
