How do you change your roster?!!!!

Ok....I read the damn booklet and followed the reorder roster instructions. Everytime I freakin reorder (franchise mode) and try and drag my players around. I get his damn profile(view player)!!! WTF?!!
When I am in the game I cant seem to change up my guys individually without using the stupid "starting 5", "3 point", "12th man", etc. HELP!!! This is really annoying!!!

are you single clicking and dragging?

if you double click you view the player, single click and drag to reorder

If I dont do anything and there is a player I want to sub. I click on him and it highlites his name and it throws me into their "view a player" screen. I cant seem to get this thing to work. I'm using the Intellimouse. White with the 5 buttons including the wheel.
Very strange and frustrating. When I go into Exhibition. I can change my lineup but not in Frachise or Season mode. WTF? This is irritating!
