Dynasty mode ideas

The coaches should be former NBA players. Although this would be irrealistic, it would make you and the computer fight for the
best coaches for certain areas. For example, you would definitely want Kerr to be your 3 pt coach.

Training Camp mini-games

As in madden there should be separate levels and a gold, silver and bronze.

Free Throw
-Free Throw, if you do well, it improves your free throw stats.

3pters
-The 3pt contest!

Ball handling
-You have to try and dribble through various opponents without getting blocked. The more opponents you are able to go through, the better.

Shooting
-I can't think of one. Any ideas?

Defense
-Try to hold down the attacking team to the fewest amount of points possible! (for 5 players) (can raise: defense, blocking, rebounds.)

Offense
-Score as much as possible within the limited time. (for 5 players) (can raise: offense, 3pt, 2pt, passing)

Rebounding
-Get as many free throw rebounds as possible!

Clutch
-You have only a few seconds, make the winning basket in time! (for 5 players)
-There's only a few seconds, defend your enemy's last shot!
Can raise: Clutch, 3pt, 2pt, passing, defense and offense.

any other ideas?

Hmm.....

Postby Vi1n5ce on Tue Oct 28, 2003 6:40 pm

I guess someone would just abuse this system and try to get everyone in their team to have rating 99.... haha, just a guess....
But if you, for example, pratice 100 free throw and only get 1 point increase in free throw rating, then there isn't really much difference in game.......

I recommand setting an upper limit on how many player can a trainer train. In between games, for example, they can only train 2 players from the team and get a raise of 10 rating or so... Then the rating will drop back down to normal after one or two games...

I think real NBA player are mostly trained by their head coach during a practice game... They gain real experience by following what the couch said during practice and learn from that.... So in Live, I think EA can add coach instruction's speech and if the user follow what the coach said during the practice game, then their rating will go up......

Comments???

that's why traning sessions cost money!
and when it cost money to do such things, there's no need to have any maximum allowed players to train. it would just cost to damn much...

Unrealistic???

Postby Vi1n5ce on Wed Oct 29, 2003 9:13 pm

Hmm, I guess that would be unrealistic since I am guessing that real NBA teams are not short of money on hiring training coaches but the player are just not improving that much....
The question now is do we want an unrealistic game or a game that is realistic but have lesser feature???.......

so you don't think it's unrealistic to have a maximum number of players that can be in training?
i'm pretty sure that real teams can train their players how much they wan't to...

Have anyone who replied played Madden 2004?
I mean I want the training camp to actually have games instead of that weird cinematic that you see in Live 2004.
and yes, the training camp would cost money.
same thing with the coaches.

Almost everything you do in Madden mini-camp requires some very distinct skill, working on defense/hustle in Live would be allright, or score this many points in this man minutes, but shooting is random depending on your player, how fun would it be to press the shoot button over and over again? They can easily add that next year as far as I'm concerned, not a biggy at all.

Maybe for conditioning they could throw or roll a ball and you have to get to it before it goes out of bounds. Now you can even dive for it.

I think this is a great wishlist idea...and if they made it like how they made the training in live 2004..it cannot be abused

i wrote a similar post on the ea website....yea they should have it like madden but u can train 2 players in each drill

and u have 3's, dribbling, rebounding, defense, offense, clutch

for 3's u have to run up and down the court and see how many 3's u can make in 1mins or sumthin and im u make 10 itsl ike bronze u get 3pts on starter and points progress depending on how many u make and what level (starter, superstar blah)

rebounding: play 3min 3on3 if u get 5boards 3pts, 8boards 5pts, 12 boards 7pts

defense 1on1 player gets 20 tries if they score only 5 u get 7pts, 10 u get 5pts, 14 u get 3pts and 15-19 u get 1 20 u get 0

clutch u have to hit a game winner u have 10 tries u make 8 or more u get 5pts, 5-8 3pts, 2-5 1pt

driblbing - u have to go through cones and do a freestyle move that u are instructed to do....if u do it in 7secs 7pts, 10secs 5pts, 14secs 2pts and if u hit cones .5 secs is added or sumthin

things like that it would make it a lil better

there should be drills for each skill

I played basketball and these are some drills.

for defense rebounding- u can have a cpu player shooting and then following his shot and u have 2 box out and grab the rebound before the other player, and it cant hit floor, and as it the levels get harder u can have moreppl goin 2 offense glass.

and for offense rebound u shoot and automatic miss and ull ahve 2 get it , and as it gets harder more defense players.

for passing than u can run a 3 on 2 break and make the right pass and u get points and if they make a layup u get bonus like madden. Or u can be running a play and u have 2 make right pass.

for dribbling u have 2 break a press.

freethrows, hit freethrows,

conditioning can be dribbling around cones and hitting layups, but fullcourt and u have a minute 2 do as many as u can.

just some ideas.

what if they were to bring back the clutch rating, and instead of the point increase for fg, 3pt, and ft boosting a players overall rtg, it boosted the clutch rating. and when the clutch rating increased to certain levels, it would then increase the players overall rtg by specified points?
this could apply just to the training camp (hopefully full pre-season), and the end of season ratings would increase or decrease as usual.
