Draft Mod For NBA Live 2005 - Version 1.0 Released

Ok everyone, the converting has been completed. Still, some problems remain. I will list all the problems at the bottom of this post, they will be fixed ASAP.

What I need you guys to do is once you install the mod, check out as many rookies as possible in edit player, then come back here and post any skintones or body shapes that need to be changed. The headshapes have been converted from 06/07 so headbands will not show up correctly on players. Luckily I believe only about 10 of the players in this mod wearheadbands in real life, so its not a big problem. Just leave them without headbands or list the names of them and I will try find a good headshape + headband from 05 to fit.

IF YOU FIND A PROBLEM WITH THIS MOD, PLEASE POST IT HERE SO IT CAN BE SOLVED

Onto the instructions:

1) Download file from the link, then extract it

2) Backup your saved Dynasty folder

3) Open NBA Live 2005, load your Dynasty

4) Copy all contents from the "Setup" folder in the mod files into your dynasty saved folder, make sure it is in the "saves" folder

5) Run "Setup". This will take up to 5 minutes to go through, but do not exit the installer until the icon on your taskbar (near the clock) dissappears and a box opens up saying the installation is complete (NOTE: Ignore the "invalid speech ID" errors)

6) Load your dynasty in the game

7) Check in scouting mode that the first few players names and heights are correct (eg. Greg Oden, 7", Kevin Durant 6"10, etc)

8)ALT+TAB out of NBA Live 2005. Go to your dynasty folder and look for "Post Draft Ratings" and "Appearance.bat". Back up these two files (if they are not there don't worry, we will find them later)

9) Carry on with your dynasty if you have not yet reached off season mode, make sure to save. If you have already, proceed to step 10

10) When you reach the offseason, save your dynasty when the game prompts you to

11) Proceed through the offseason, including the scouting practice games (NOTE: The ratings during these practice games ae rough estimates based on scouting reports, the more realistic ratings will be added after)

12) Once you complete training camp for the next season, ALT+TAB out of NBA Live 2005. Go to your dynasty folder and look for "Post Draft Ratings" and "Appearance.bat". Back up these two files (if you did not find them in the earlier step)

12) Once you have backed up the files, save your dynasty

13) ALT+TAB out of NBA Live 2005 once again. Go to your backed up "Post Draft Ratings" folder. Copy and paste all contents into your dynasty save, then run "DraftRatings07.bat"

14) Stay in the saves folder, and copy and paste the "appearance.bat" you backed up earlier to your dynasty save. Run "appearance.bat"

15) Load your dynasty. Go to edit player and check that your rookies have the right skin tone and have no armbands, legbands, etc that may have shown up in scouting practice games (NOTE: Rating changes on rookies through training camp will not be accurate, however, when you run the ratings file it will straighten out the ratings to reflect the real life players)

16) Carry on with your dynasty and enjoy playing with the new rookies!

Credit to RyanP for everything. If it wasn't for him my old 07 mod will still be dead and be one messy job to install even if I did complete it. Stop by his thread or chuck him a PM to let him know you appreciate the work, this Mod has been alot of tough work.

Note: The problems below may involve players that are not actually installed in the draft mod, I will check it out when I can and remove them if they don't apply.

For a lot of my cyberfaces, they may be glitched due to the reflection file. So try deleting the (ex. minardir) file.

the black spaces near the neck is from the converted cyberfaces file of 07 or 06 just edit the cyberface and extend the skin to cover the black area and done. . . I will find headshapes for some so that I can fix some of the problems. . .

The draft is coming up soon and we need this patches!!!

There is problem with Oden´s 3-point rating( at least I got it). His 3-point ratings are variety 60-78 and I´ve used your 3 times. I think that should be much lower.

Edit it in the players.dbf, use the guide and change it to 0.

That problem won't happen come next season (as long as you run the Post Draft Ratings file), only in the scouting reports. There are some other ratings that need to be changed up, eg. Kevin Durant's 3PT rating.

Hi

Can anyone tell me a quick way of fixing the player's age on Dinasty mode? Using this mod, Oden, Durant, etc. are 16 years old. And all players are 3 years younger than they should for season 06/07. I hope I don't have to go one by one changing the date of birth

EDIT: Ok, I found out how to do that easily. The problem now is that I have 30 something years old players with too many contract years left. Does anyone have a players.dbf file with updated contracts? (Just the YEARS_LEFT column would do, don't need the whole file)
