DId they mention at all how the game would be on different systems??
And...........
Is the framrate problem gone from last year???? (I hope u know what i'm talking about, the game would kind of stutter along when there was too much happening at once.)
thanks for the great report by the way!
We used the XBOX because it was easier for them to DeBug and for them to use on Beta I guess.
They games are going to be the same for a 3 game consoles. Excluding online features for XBox and PS2.
Framrate problems will be fixed.

Thanks for the info.
Here's a couple questions: when you pump fake and the defender falls for it, can you actually drive passed him in Live 2005? Also, when collisions occur near/under the basket does the player recover faster than in 2004?

When the defender falls for it you just have to have quick reaction time to drive past him. When you drive past him defenders will come and help though.
When a mid-air collision happens, a fould will be called 95% of the time so you don't have to worry about recovering faster.

ok i know you said that mid air collision fouls will be called 95% of the time, but will there be any blocks without fouls being called. i mean realistic blocks. example, if VC goes up to challenge shaq what are the chances that he'll actually dunk on shaq/shaq blocks his shot.
i know last year pretty much anyone could be blocked with almost anyone. please tell me that has changed.

Blocks are reduced, but you can't just dunk all the time.
A dunk happens not that often but you can still do it. There will be blocks, fouls, offencive fouls, turnovers, and other things that will change whether you make a dunk or not. So there are more factors weather or not you can dunk.

Thanks again Mballer!! Last few questions:
- Did they fix the court size, wider now than 2004??
- So the crossover moves i saw i d trailer will be there?? In 2004 the freestyle moves & dribbling were not that hot. So we will see new freestyle & SIGNATURE moves??
- Players' faces are great now. But are they going to fix the unproportional arms like Yao ming?? They should add muscles too..
- The cutscenes in 2004 were few & not so nice.. Could u remember any awesome cut-scenes u saw?? Will there still be cut-scenes during trading, drafting or releasing a player??
- Lastly, will there be an introduction of players during elims?? Or only during playoffs like in 2004?? Is it better than last year's INTRO???
THANK YOU SO MUCH & GOD BLESS!!!

Can you have more than one user in the dynasty mode?
This year, I think you can.
How sure are you about being able to have more than one user in the dynasty mode of live 2005?

I've read so many impressions from you and as well as the other guys but so far these questions have not been asked or even brought up, so tell me:
1. Did you notice or did they make mention of load times for the playstation 2, I mean load time for Live 2004 took forever before you could start and get into the flow of things.
2. Are they better player intros now and post game win celebrations? How do they look?
3. What plans does EA have with respect to artists that will sign to do their songs for the game? Or better yet what kind of new music will be added this year?
4. Obviously you answered this already that substitution is done of dead ball situations, my thing is will you be able to see the animation of each player swatted in for another player? Also with the editing headbands, can we also edit the player skin color, body shape, hair etc?
5. Can you find out from EA if there will be additional cutscene or presentations for the Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, MVP, Coach of the Year, 6th Man Awards...? Instead of just showing us their pictures. I mean I don't think this can take up too much space on the console...
6. Under player stats, have they added double doubles, triple doubles, Assist to turnover ratio, etc. If not, would it be something for the future?
7. What about Technical Fouls or Flagrant fouls?
8. What about players complimenting themselves after a successive free throw attempt, is that in the game? Also what about signature free throws by some certain players like Jason Kidd (Not sure if someone already asked this)?
9. And lastly (for now) have the alley-hoops been fixed because sometimes even the best dunker on my team can't finish a perfect alleyhoop pass and pls don't tell me you didn't notice that in Live 2004, cuz it's there, and it can be very discouraging. I hope that has been fixed.
I can't think of any more right now but I know there's still more...

what kind of new dunks are there in 5 on 5 play? is there a bigger variety? are there more dunk packages?

- Yes, they fixed the size and the players have good spacing too.
- There will be new freestyle moves, as far as the trailer I don't know.
- Not sure if they fix the arms, I hope so!
- There will be a few new cutscenes, I didn't check out the trading and signing cutscenes. Sorry.
- The intros looked new and nice!

There are some new songs, I like them.

I don't know about either of your questions.

I didn't see any movies for the awards.
6. Under player stats, have they added double doubles, triple doubles, Assist to turnover ratio, etc. If not, would it be something for the future?
I didn't see it, but I hope there are
7. What about Technical Fouls or Flagrant fouls?
The NBA won't allow it.
8. What about players complimenting themselves after a successive free throw attempt, is that in the game? Also what about signature free throws by some certain players like Jason Kidd (Not sure if someone already asked this)?
They clap on made FTs, there are no signature FTs because of the amount of time it would take to make them.

I never went for an Alley-Oop in 05 sorry.
I can't think of any more right now but I know there's still more...

I pulled off a two handed windmill with Spree.

So basically what you are saying is there will be no facial type dunks where you can dunk on your friend with vince and just brag in his face for about 5 mins?
Sat Aug 21, 2004 2:26 pm
There are a few facial dunks.
Just very rare.

That figures

oh well it was worth a shot. hopefully the good out weight the bad this year. thanks for answering for me
Sun Aug 22, 2004 4:26 am
that's good though. How often does a huge facial happen a game. Once maybe twice.

I'm pretty sure there is a slider that you can turn up, that turns layups into dunks. They had in 2004. It decided dunk-layup ratio.
Mon Aug 23, 2004 5:56 am
i'm sure they have sliders but i meant for like online play. i play my cousins alot and i like to talk crap when i get in his grill
i have another ?. can you have specific plays for certain positions like before(not in 04 though) for example: Penny Hardaway is a great post up player if i wanted to call for a post up to him is there a play for that. last year you had to control the man call an ISO and then do it. has that changed this year?
Mon Aug 23, 2004 6:02 am
I don't think we can use sliders for online gaming and i don't wish to, because that would cause lots of problem, but EA has to make online default setting more realistic and enjoyable. Live04 isn't fun online, it's just all about run and gun.....
And i've met some cheaters online who adjusted their own roster ratings to make super Allen Iverson etc. Those people aren't real gamers.

Its great.
umm....let me rephrase my question, in Live 2004, when you do a jump pass to a teammate in the post when he receives it, there is a lag on his actions (about 3-4 secs by my estimation), meaning upon reception he's helpless:can't dribble, can't take it in even if he's wide open, as a result, the AI always collapses on him or I have kick it out again to avoid 3 in the key. Another thing, have they fixed the pick and roll? In Live 2004 my stupid AI teammate sets up screen for my shooter on the strong side instead of the weak side for the wide open shot. And I hope this time the nearest biggest man sets up the pick not the big guy on the other side of the court. Lastly, is shot adjustment upon contact automatic? is there no posterizing for high str/dunk rated players?
Mon Aug 23, 2004 5:27 pm
Is the training camp interactive or is it still simulated?
Mon Aug 23, 2004 5:30 pm
that ide would be cool, just like madden's camp.

I just hope the EASO is much better. Even with the cheaters, and the people that play run and gun, I can still find people that play a more 'traditional' style of play... the only thing that keeps me playing online is to play with the buddys I have made to play some real basketball.... there should be something like an 'official roster' and every game made using official rosters will have a tag on it, so you know that guy isn't cheating...
Also, I was thinking before the game starts, you can have a shoot around. Not a REAL shootaround, but the purpose is just to feel the lag and see if it's actually playable. If it's not, you can just leave, but if it is, then you'll know when the game starts it will actually be enjoyable.

I didn't really notice, sorry.

The blocking seems a little better, and do they actually block off the backboard now?! I just really hope the blocking system isnt like 2004 because it used to be like blocking 'scenes/triggered event blocking', like, you would know that you are gunna get blocked when your players goes up for the dunk and like leans in a wierd way, then the guy comes and blocks you . I loved the blocking in ESPN, it was more realistic, except that when you would replay the block, the D's hand would be like 1 foot away from the ball, but it was more realistic besides that fact.
