Also, I wrote an email to the author of the article, asking him if he knew the dunk contest will be integrated in dynasty mode or not. I'll let you guys know IF he answers.

I'm happy you found the article but if you hadn't have found it someone else would have... so please, stfu.

Time for some devil's advocate - I like the idea of the all star weekend and it makes me quite excited, but these are the first two things that popped into my head:

1) They concentrated so much on this that I'm still going to be able to sign Kobe Bryant for 1 year at minimum.

2) Now my computer will not work with the game and i won't get all the added polygons.

I also sure hope when they say that the game has picked certain players who can participate.... I hope these aren't hard coded, but that they pick players with high dunk/jump ratings, as it would seem silly if I created a super dunking player who couldn't compete.

Hey, Jon Robinson anwered me right away!
He said that the dunk contest will be playable in dynasty mode as players from your team can participate.

Isn't it wonderfull???

Can IGN insiders like save the file and send it to someone like Yohance or something for them to upload it so rest of us poor guys can watch the vids?

I'm not sure what you mean. Those videos can be seen by anyone, you don't need to be a subscriber or whatever. If your connection is slow for streaming, you can download them to your desktop.

I have indeed download them, but I don't know if I can post them in this website, there could be problems with copyright protection.

They even had Kobe double clutching in the air during a jumper in traffic, one-on-three…it doesn't get more realistic than that.

Yeah, those clips are not that impressive after all, but I wouldn't trust them too much, the quality is bad and I don't think they're from the PC version.

On a different note, the good news is that the all star weekend is integrated into the dynasty mode as well. This means that when you start a dynasty you'll be motivated during the first half of the season because you look forward to the all-star break, while in the second half, you'll be motivated as you look forward to playoffs. All this should discourage you from starting a dynasty and quitting it after few games as sometime happend in live 04. There will be several awaited moments during your dynasty

Obviously they haven't implemented the net animations yet, hopefully that means they are improving on them.

BTW, about the people looking white, I think its just the lighting in some cases - I also noticed Kobe looking orange too. The only person who looked too white to me was Donyell Marshall.

The only problem I noticed was that in one video under the "Authentic Dunks" section I think I saw Devean George do a 360 windmill

now i am glad i read this entire thread to the end, cause once i saw people asking if it would be playable in dynasty i wanted to reply and saw that acording to IGN it was and your players can get selected to the events.

so now that cocobee beat me to the punch let me just say this,

Yeah, but initially the article didn't mention that it was playable in dynasty, that's why all the people were asking. Then I wrote to the author and he replied me that yes, it was possible. After that I think he edited the article. That's why now you can read it...

WOW! FINALLY SOME FOOTAGE!

Those dunks really are... ridiculous... VC doing front flips... ok... but it's still good period. And if you just compare the graphics its a huge jump from 04. I'm really looking forward to this. The freestyle air vid didn't do much justice for me (were all those anims automated or you had to do stuff for example) it showed tipins though, that was cool.

Look on the freestyle air video @ 48 seconds... that spin is cool.

those videos are hot!!!!!!!....can't wait for October.... i also remember in the zone 2000...also incorporated slam dunk contest for psx.....back then, but it really sucks big time a big leap from 2004.....thumbs for EA
