i agree EZJ......Peja is a better shooter for my shooting touch....

i'm gonna trade korver soon.he just dont fit my shooting touch.....and take note guys Van Horn never have the 3 point icon when i have him in my roster once.....yet he drain em 3's like theres no tomorrow....

Then there are the good days and the bad days... I had one rookie guy on my team who's pretty good, but one game he was just unconsious... He hit basically everything I put up with him...

I got like 47 points with the guy when I usually score like 20 with the guy... It was just incredible... The CPU had no one or nothing to stop him...

The guys have their good days and their bad days in Live 2005... This might also be a factor in this debate in atleast some games...

And you Houston guy... If you got Peja and TMac on your lineup and Peja is on the bench... You should move TMac to his more natural Shooting Guard position and get Peja and TMac both into the starting lineup...

my starting five:
Dikembe--yep the retardo is well and alive in 2008
Yao----china man in texas
Peja----looking alot like a true serbian
TMac----leads the league in scoring with a 22ppg outing
Alston----the guys main purpose is to steal em balls

bench:
korver
mcdyess
stephania
coleman
steve smith
wesley p.
m.taylor

man o man i worked so hard to get this kinda lineup in a tight cap

as you can see i got no PG.so i'm planning to get rid of mr.bad days KORVER for either a decent 3pointer of a PG or pull off a couple of tricks to get PAU back....i sure need more fire power since i'm into my grandslam year and the other teams have pretty much bulk up their individual arsenals....

one thing to add: if you set the natural position of a player to another position, the player sometimes added a +2 to his overall rating.....i find this funny but what's the reason behind all of this?

As the AI calculates the overall scores based on the ratings, I think that some ratings weight more for point guards than for centers and vice versa...

Dribbling and passing might be emphasized for a point guard, shooting skills for a shooting guard, inside scoring and rebounding for centers etc. So if a guy has really high scores in the emphasized categories when you switch his position then you might see an increase in his overall...

Overall isn't everything in this game... The individual scores matter more than the overall... A really good three point shooter might not be any good in other areas and have a 52 overall due to that fact, but he just might be the best three point man in the league, no matter how low his overall score...

I remember a guy I drafted in Live 2000... He was a top notch three point shooter, he was good in other areas too, but mostly his three point shooting... The guy was just psycho... He shot the most three pointers in a season (simulated) and he shot the three at the best percentage in the league... That was just crazy. I remember that his shooting range just barely reached the three point line and if you shot the shot a step away from the three point line the AI would never contest it... He had a 99 three point shooting rating and the AI didn't contest it cause he was "out of range"... He was a machine...

I just love this game...

For those of you who can't hit threes with Korver, I advise trying to release the shot earlier...He's got a quick release both in the game and in reality.

IMHO the game doesn't adjust ratings up/down enough, because you can take 6'4" guys and change them from SG to C and their ratings go down only a little bit.

That's one of the ways to rip off the AI in dynasty mode. Grab a bunch of free agents, they tend to be too short for Center (6'8" ish) but have decent enough rebounding stats, change them all to center and boom you have a never-ending supply of halfway decent Centers, which every team is desperate for.

OTOH, you've got low rated guys like Adonal Foyle (40ish i think) Center who was a league leader (both IRL and in my simmed seasons) in blocked shots.

And COOLmac@... CPU assist is what makes the stroke matter more, so with CPU assist off, it counts more on the ratings and you can't just start shooting them threes with anyone... So you actually by your own definition be playing the game with 'CPU assist on' rather than off...

CPU assist affects how well you shoot w/ the release?

I thought all the CPU Assist did was help the computer cheat to keep the scores close?

Well, I meant Shot Control...

But stroke is everything... And matters no matter how your settings are set.

Gasol has a great 3-point shot compared to the archetypical bigman. Sure, he's no Dirk Nowitkzki, but if he's open beyond the arc, he can knock 'em down.
