Great job on the birdie board i will send you my stats when I reach mid season...

 Thanks Seraph! I'm looking forward to your contribution too!

 December was a weird month for me so not much got done on the 'front-end' of the Birdie site(I just got back from the Memphis-Wolves game from last Saturday...it's weird having people look at you when you're cheering for both teams :D )

:!: So now we're past the first trimester of the Birdie Board and I'm proud to say 19 entries strong. Keep those pstat files coming! This January, I'm working on a new interface that will somewhat personalize each Dynaster that participates so it should be a good 2005 for the board.

I've started a new thing on my Hall of Famer tool thread so you guys can get a good glimpse of what Birdie scores the Great ones are reaching...

well just wanna ask,
well i was thinking that if everyone playing different minutes, like myself i try playing 9 minutes and another one 5 minutes. in the 9 min, my stats were like NBA stats, i have accurate field goal percentage and not too high scores or other stats like rebounds. i try it in your site and calculate an see i got about 90 plus birdie points.

then i play 5 minutes, the scores was from 70-80 points and all stats were down, but i think my score will be realistic in that 8 length. try it to your site and gives me a 60 birdie points.

so i guess the more points or other stats will give you high birdie points and the reverse for the other. do this birdie only goes for eficiency and high number of stats though i know it will also give greater chance of penalities (which also i have a question).

okey about the penalties, as i understand if your average points in not on the range of realistics score, you will get some penalties, also goes for other stats.
but do it also looks at turnovers, fouls and field goal shooting.
like turnovers, i f my player committed an average of 10 turnovers a game, do it look realistics or fouled out every game. well i know this was asking you too much, lets forget about that but still you can give a thought about that.

this is important, if i a newbie and like to play unrealistic game, i up all the shooting of my players and sliders. and i won every game coz of that, becoz im shooting a 90 % form the field every night. do i got a penalty for that.

well just some questions bro.....
by the way check my dynsty if you got time, need some comments on my All-Star coverage... Peace out!!

Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:12 am

sorry for not editing my previous post..

also i want to ask about the legend comparison, it says i should change sliders or game level because my eff was to high...
im on superstars and my newly tweak sliders gave me a hard time...

So yes, you're right in a way. Your team's Birdie score is an accumulation of each player's efficiency score(from the birdie formula) minus player and team penalties.

Micchy_boy wrote: but do it also looks at turnovers, fouls and field goal shooting. like turnovers

Only overinflated points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals are penalized. Since turnovers and fouls negatively impact your efficiency score anyway, you'd be penalized twice and so that's not good. (an analogy would be to that is being taxed on your taxes)

:!: Yeh, keep in mind that this is Efficiency per game as oppose to efficiency per minute. Next season(meaning NBA Live 2006) I guess I'll introduce another birdie board based on efficiency per minute. :D Lot's of stuff to accomplish before then though...

Micchy_boy, I'll answer your last question about H.o.F. comparison a bit later here...

paradizecityz refines the Birdie Status Gauge:
Since paradizecityz is on the top of the Birdie charts, one day late December, I took a moment of his time to find out his thoughts about refining the Birdie gauge:

MVP: Steve Nash
All-Star: LeBron James
Starter: Emeka Okafor
Sixth Man: Vladimir Radmanovic
Bench Warmer: Darko Milicic

Due to Steve Nash's MVP break out year this year, I didn't want to take his stats from last year and since Okafor didn't play last year, I wasn't able to compute their Birdie scores. If anybody knows where to find their running stats for the current season...LET ME KNOW!

...but here are the results so far.

REAL LIFE NBA PLAYER COMPARISON CHART:
(as determined by you, the NLSC members)

Image

Awesome! Now are there other people out there that can cast me their opinions and give me some players? Again, I believe the 'law of averages' will prevail in the end...

remember-
MVP:
All-Star: (somebody who's never won MVP before)
Starter: (somebody who's never been an All-Star but always starts for team)
Sixth Man:
Bench Warmer:

SUBMIT YOUR pstat file and REPRESENT YOUR STATE/COUNTRY!!!

.: LiveDynasty.com Update :.
 Dynasty Breakdown converted to GLOBAL MAP phase. 1.26.04 Beta v1.0a

TO ALL GLOBAL PC DYNASTY PLAYERS!:
I know since Christmas we got a whole influx of new Dynasty players out there...so I wanted to extend the invitation to submit your stats so you to can be part of the Birdie Board lore!

Now, when you submit your stats, not only do you get to represent the team that you love BUT also now you can represent your country!

Check out the new Global Map in it's beta version on LiveDynasty.com.

So, I'm looking forward to the new wave of Dynasty PC players out there! If you have nooooooooo idea what I'm talking about, read the first post of this thread.

Well, Joshua/Donatello...I did it, now let's see if Bolbronx can take the look to a new level(I really hope so)
(To some, I know this new semi-feature is nothing too ground breaking, but as some might know, I've been talking about it for about two months now on the LiveDynasty board...I'm finally putting my 'money where my mouth was' I was actually surprised that I was able to do the backend programming without going crazy!)

On this thread:

On the livedynasty.com site:
 Tightened down the GLOBAL MAP a little bit. Beta v1.0b

 Converted some databases to use mySQL(not that many will noticed from the front end)

LIVEDYNASTY.COM BULLETIN BOARD OVERSEER NEEDED!:
Well as Donatello/Joshua kind of took a vacation from NBA Live, I'm kind of out a Moderator now. Now that I've been doing this for several months now, a lot of you know what Livedynasty.com is all about.

Basically, I'm looking at the board to emphasize ways to keep Dynasty mode alive and well, and interesting ways to enhance to enhance Livedynasty.com in ways to help Dynasty players keep interested in playing(via new stat angles, Live Cards, etc). As this month will be busy for me coding for the Dynasty Synopsis Module and then the Playoff Team Board, I really won't have time to moderate the bulletin board...

...in other words, if there is anybody interested, PM within.

But if all else fails...KEEP THOSE PSTATS COMING! :D

Thu Feb 10, 2005 10:45 pm

I'm not applying for the 'overseer' function, but if you need any graphical things, I'll help.

Nice touch on the world map with the dynasties from different countries.(Y)

Now that I've set some goals to get Livedynasty.com to the website I've been envisioning, I should be on the boards more often now. :D

So, after doing this for a year now, I've finally been able to give you guys some REAL LIFE references of NBA Champions of years past.

HonorGlow wrote:NOTE: So, if you notice, one of the real-life great teams can not even reach 100 weighted Birdie points whereas we have currently 10 Dynasty instances scoring over 100! Obviously, this is attributed to the fact that we're PLAYING A VIDEO GAME :P So, before I draw any conclusions and/or make any adjustments.

So, until then, take those REAL scores for what they're worth. Currently, right now, all that means is if you're team is not pulling in about 84 Birdies, it probably infers that you're not playing to Championship calibre playing yet.

So for a moment there I thought I was going to have to do some real brainwork! If you notice the new addition('87 Lakers), their Weighted Birdie score beats out any of our Live Dynasties thus far. So our calculations are still safe... perhaps I'm realizing that we have a lot of High-Octane Live players out there!

Thank you, It's_Asdf, I appreciate the comment...things are finally coming together and I hope most of it makes sense...if doesn't well...I'm here to help.

:!:New Addition to the Champion Board::!:
 1983 Philadelphia 76ers birdie score: 104.60
*Top 3 players: Malone(26.08), Erving(17.97), Cheeks(14.52)*

Right now, SbHZmAFiA's Dynasty is the closest to this score. Both teams have great point guards(cheeks/nash), great chemistry, and high octane!

.: LiveDynasty.com Update :.
On this thread:
 Updated Top Ten on the 2005 Birdie Board

On the livedynasty.com site:
 Just added! Two Dynasty Synopsis modules!:

 Cleaned up the breakdown page for a tighter look.

THE DYNASTY SYNOPSIS MODULE more info:
As I had mentioned on The X's thread, this module will be eligible for all GM's who participate on the BirdieBoard(send me their pstats)…

Soon, the Stats tab and a video tab will be enabled so that the module will have a more dynamic and enticing feel to it...and I'm pretty excited about the upcoming developments in it...so any feedback via PM would be appreciated! or even on this thread!

But if all else fails...KEEP THOSE PSTATS COMING! :D

Thu May 26, 2005 2:50 pm

Okay, after a semi-false start, it appears to be working again! So, please check it out. I also added Micchy's synopsis too.

...let me know if you run into any errors, gents!

Mon May 30, 2005 3:40 pm

.: LiveDynasty.com Update :.
On the livedynasty.com site:
 Just implemented! Dynasty Synopsis Stats!:(beta 1.0)

Image statistics:

SbHZmAFiA

Micchy Boy

Honor Glow

...additional information:
Right now, the stats displayed are some what limited as I still have to add other stat leaders(assists, rebounds etc) but the crux of the programming is done...so stay tuned for more!

Soon, I'll be adding a video tab so that each GM with a module with have that enabled, pretty exciting stuff...

REMEMBER you don't have to have your own dynasty thread to participate on the Birdie Board...you just need to be playing Dynasty mode and of course a way to get your pstat file...(obviously a PC USER) So, I'm always looking for more NBA Live 2005 PC players to contribute their stats!

...out.
