Yeah Right....

Carmelo is the best player on his team...Wade is not.

Sat May 15, 2004 8:12 am

Wade is still in the playoffs + he plays a tougher position.

Sat May 15, 2004 11:54 am

melo is not a bad choice

Wade isnt in the playoffs...The Miami Heat are.

The last time I checked...12 guys make up a team. And it damn sure aint like Wade is carrying them like Melo has had to carry Denver way too many times this year.

And look where Wade is...The EASTERN CONFERENCE for gods sake. An incredibly weak conference. My little brothers 11 & Under boys club squad could probably contend for the playoffs in the East.

Sat May 15, 2004 5:26 pm

Hey dude, take it easy.

Look, so what if the East is weaker than the West. Wade still deserves his respect, the dude's a rookie and he made the NBA All Rookie 1st Team, along with Melo, Hinrich, Bosh & Bron.
So, anyone of those rookies could be on the cover. But, has anyone ever looked at 'Big' Ben Wallace? He's 2 time DPOY, and 2 time All Star team member. Others to look at, Ron Artest, Magloire, Peja, PIPPEN, Ming, JDub or Bibby- anyone can make the cover, even Brunson (...well maybe not, sorry Rick). And Jordan, why not, he might come out of retirement for next year, so by the time it's released, it will looked planned by EA!
That's my 5 dollars, cheers! (B)

And LeBron James? why not him?

he is with electronic arts, no?

Wed May 19, 2004 5:48 pm

He appears in a couple of the intro videos for NBA Live 2004, but I didn't think he had the same kind of deal with EA that Melo does.

Wed May 19, 2004 9:03 pm

Lebron james is damn ugly, and he didn't make the playoff.
Melo made the playoff and should've won the ROY award.
But then again I haven't seen a single game with these players (except the Rookie game) so what do I know

Ostertag or Baker

Oh yeah, great idea! An alcoholic or the ugliest and crappiest player in the league!

The rookie game should of told you something.

It should of told you that LeBron is the KING

I do believe he should be the cover boy!

Lebron seemed to best allyoper ever in that game. Whatever crazy position the ball went he managed to grab it and slam it in nasty anyway
However I would still like to have Melo more than Lebron

Carmelo or Wade if a Rookie is going to be on it, if it's not a rookie, then Baron Davis, Gilbert Arens, Kwame Brown, Shawn Marion, Elton Brand or Michael Redd

Indeed I had a 70 Point Game with that man

I think it could be Baron Davis because the EA E3 site has screens with KG, Vince Carter, and Baron Davis. The other two have had covers already (2001 and 2004).

That's a pretty good observation QBaller, plus as far as I know, Davis isn't signed by any other company. Humm, I would pick Davis over Anthony any day of the year. Vet > Rookie.

Yes indeed. I think he will be on the cover because he is a veteran that puts up solid numbers and has not been on a cover before. I hope he does because I rather not see Carmelo on the front. I would like to see a veteran( someone whos not a rookie ) on the cover.

and as you will notice on the site:
http://www.easports.com/e3/2004/nbalive.jsp
The banner has B Diddy laying it up over KG and also the NBA Live 2005 logo with Baron in a solo shot of him doing a layup...

Carmelo is not the best candidate for cover boy, in my opinion, people who should replace him include LBJ to Jermaine O'Neal to Marbury to Ben Wallace. BTW, the Carmelo one isn't finalized, they don't finalize it until Mid-July to Early-August.

Tue Jun 22, 2004 6:38 pm

I bet they'll go with one of the pistons this year... ben wallace, rip hamilton, or rip hamilton

Wed Jun 23, 2004 5:11 am

just put earl boykins on it peeking up from the bottom and call it a day

Wed Jun 23, 2004 5:59 am

The more I think of what Qballer said, the more I think Davis will be on the cover, I still go with Davis > Melo.
