It should be one of those things if you get it just right, you should be able to hit some long shots. Half court shots or a little way past half court could perhaps be more common if you get off a good, open shot with a good shooter.

With shots from the backcourt, your timing and control would have to be just right for the shot to have a chance, and would most likely be successful by accident. Perhaps a couple more styles of shot more suited to a long range Hail Mary would make halfcourt shots a little easier without being too unrealistic.

I'm sure many longtime fans have had experiences with NBA Live 95 or NBA Live 96 when players have stopped and pulled up for jumpshots from their own free throw line and swished them. If you still have one of the first two titles, pop it in and turn off the Out of Bounds rule. You'll be surprised how many shots you can fluke from the corner out of bounds.

I remeber... I was Lakers vs. Rockets... got a 7 point lead with 11 seconds left... this is where it goes bad.

8 seconds left: Cat Mobley scores a three, my lead is 4
Then they stole the ball and gave it to Yao... he scored... lead is 2

I took a timeout and should have held onto the ball and they fouled me... I made one FT... then with 0.8 seconds left... Francis scored a full court shot.

I nearly killed my PC.... but then I came back with Kobe and scored 16 points with him in 5 minutes! Oh yeah... unrealistic 2003!
