sure, EA made a multi-million dollar decision based on the wishlist on page3 of someone's post on a fansite message board of one of it's sports titles.

I, for one, say THANK GOD. i'm not such a huge rap/hiphop fan, but I am a good critic, and I give musical credit when it's due....but most of the jukebox tracks on NBA Live 2004 are terrible. Just horribly constructed, repetitive "songs" with 5 second loops running over and over and over and oover and over and over.....

a little run DMC would be nice. lol :P

maybe EA should listen to larry bird, and put some rock music in the game, since the "majority of nba fans is white america"....haha i can't believe bird said that--i dont' really think that's true. isn't it quite the opposite? either way, i think a mix of rock/hiphop/whatever would be nice

rock n' roll in basketball? That wouldn't work. The only other thing i see them doing is going back to funk and jazz like in live 99 and before.

In all seriousness..even if one doesnt like rap...certain types of music goes with certain types of entertainment. If you're playing some wrestling game, nascar, football game..then rock would work. This is basketball...hip-hop reigns here.

I don't know why EA don't let you have custom soundtracks (for xbox anyway). Yohance is right certain music certain games eg I couldn't see NOFX going with an NBA game. With custom I could put some good rap on like Deltron, Beasties, Downsyde, PE, De La Soul and even 2 Live Crew! As long as it doesn't have a stupid ass r&b chorus.

EA should also add an Mp3 directory to add your own music

Believe me, I hate new rap with all my heart, but It's the only thing that works with basketball. I don't know why, but when I hit a buzzer beater, I wanna be doin' my celebration dance to some bass-thumpin' tracks, not "I Will Survive"

Good idea with the old school though. I like me some Run DMC, and the Beastie Boys, but I'll be ticked if "Rappers Delight" isn't considered old school enough.

The Sugar Hill Gang said:
I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie
to the hip hip hop, a you dont stop the rock
it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat...

Those were the days, am I right?

Yea it's true, hip hop really goes with Basketball, even people that don't like hip-hop and rap just feel that it flows with it, it gives the basketball atmosphere I guess.....

then how come in arenas, when i'm watching games on TV...it's always rock music in the background during opening lineups, time outs, etc.?

I was referring to the soundtrack not really the music played during the game, but it isn't really coming from me, just what people I know that don't like rap have said, I personally don't care much about the music as long as it isn't Barney or something stupid.
