I have to say that in NBA Live 2004, it is very easy to beat high class teams like Lakers or Kings. Cuz computer-controlled Shaq and Kobe are not as powerful as they should be. You rarely see Shaq scoring at will in the paint, you rarely see kobe perform a killer crossover move and get to the basket, up and under reverse layup in the mid-air to avoid block made the shot and get fouled. If AI players can do what they should do, I think I would lose 7 out of 10 games to the Lakers, and i am not gonna have any complains....In fact I would be so happy and pleased. :wink:

agree.

the AI script is not perfect for live 2004 (and the series before), star players might not rule the game when you are playing with them.

This is not realistic.

I can see T-mac scores around 10 points all the time but Howard scores a team high. The CPU team like to use their big man to score...

I hope the developers can add more attriutes of the players to make the game more realistic.

I am sure you can... The big men in Live 04 are the best and who is bigger then Shaq??? No one... The problem is with the AI... I can do pretty good damage with a rookie center that has overall of about 55. I can get averages of 12ppg, 10rpg, 2.5bpg... And those are numbers that are way too high. Shaq is so overpowering of a player that he can't be stopped. Only if the AI would realize how good those guys are. And would just play for them.

This has always plagued Live games... Live 03 had Derek Fisher scoring 50 points in every contest and Kobe and Shaq barely combining 20. It is difficult to create such an AI that would play for the center with one team and to the sf for another or the sg... It is hard. It has gotten a lot better in 2004, but it is still lacking as the AI does not recognize the best players on the court.

All players have the primacy rating which determines how important they are to their team. True, but this should also figure in the player overalls and some sort of an offensive rating that would be calculated from the ratings that are about scoring (field goals, 3ptrs, dunking, inside). And when the pecking order is all sorted out, there would have to be different AI's that select certain offensive plays. To get the ball to the best possible person or the second best... So the AI should know who is the target of each play...

The unstoppable cannot be stopped, and that's the bottom line...

Hey soulstar i bet i would take u down if u tried that vs. me online! I have played a ton of opponents that jus believe shaq is unstoppable but i have ways of keepin shaq in check and or any bigman!

the fact is ur not good because u just use one player. if u were really good u could use ur whole team. im ranked in the top 50 online now after playing some games, and i bet you cant beat me while playing with ur full team like i do.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the cpu doesn't use their post men enough. The pf and c almost never combine for more than 9-10 shots on all-star for me. When I played the Lakers Shaq went 2-3 and Malone 1-2. Deavean George just kept jacking shots.

It seems to vary for me. Sometimes Shaq will have a decent game, but I usually have to worry about GP, Kobe or George/Fox. The CPU prefers to go to the point guard, shooting guard and small forward before going to the power forward and centre. Then again, I was testing out my 95/96 patch for Live 2004 and Shawn Kemp scored a lot of points and got a lot of touches when I played a Bulls vs Sonics game. Sometimes the Primacy ratings does work as it's intended.

I was rated top 5 mate, have not played online for about 2 months, i bet im still top 30 though! Thats straight games as well, i dont play with all thoses Bullshit exploites or edit my rosters or any other crap all you wannabes use to win :wink:

1st off mafia im sorry that my no shotblocking team couldnt keep sheed in check but et i was rite in that game with the heat vs. one of the best teams on the game and clearly the best team in the east. you know i can beat u so im not gonna even gonna get into it with u :scold:

Now for this soulstar guy im not 12. mafia is not far from 12 but im a grown man and as i said before i would beat u simple as that. im sorry i dont edit my roster to win nor do i cheat or use bs methods to win. like i said im the best on live PERIOD! and mafia is second fiddle to me :wink:

but im sure he would beat u as well and im nice wen i win i show my opponent mercy mafia doesnt. jus stay in retirement mode :lame:
