EVERY NBA PLAYERS IN DYNASTY R "FOREVER YOUNG"

Tue Jun 22, 2004 6:57 pm

EA should make players look older as seasons go by. In reality, People get old but in nbalive after 14-15 years they still look the same. 05 should be different

I like the idea, but how would it be accomplished?

Yeah. They'd have to put more cyberfaces and stuff.

Not exactly. As most things we've asked for for this Live, it can be done with sliders.

In Edit Player, after a certain age, the 'Aging Features' (as I like to call it) would apply. Say if Ben Wallce got to age 32-33, you would then be able to edit his appearence, as in , you could add wrinkles, recead the hair, baldness, add nose hair etc. This would also affect their playing style- like if you get to 32-33, your effectiveness and drive would be less because you're old. Something like that might work.

That would require features such as hairstyles and facial hair to be seperate from the cyberface. An age slider in Create/Edit Player would be good though; it may not be easy to accomplish with a cyberface though.

i dont care how the guy looks, its not like we play live to admire the player's, ahem, perfectly sculpted faces  i think a better idea would be weight growth. players generally get bigger as they get older, maybe you can add a hidden statistic to determine this, i guess if you really NEED it they could add another hidden rating for guys to get, if possible, uglier :D

That would rock..actually more of their build! As you know, Kobe Bryant was a skinny mother when he first entered the league now he's decently ripped. It would be nice as the WORKING player development, as your strength increases, so does muscle tone.

Arghh player development feature, I can go on for hours on that!

The problem is...you're talking about guys aging from 18-21 to their mid-30's...most people don't go bald or get graying hair around that time.

Is there really THAT much difference between Scottie Pippen when he was drafted and Scottie Pippen now? Maybe rougher skin but that's about it. It's not something that prominent that time and game space should be sacrificed to implement it...IMO.

Look at Jordan between is rookie year and 96 ... There was a big difference ...

John Stockton still looks like he did back when he was drafted  I think we don't need this feature.

Thu Jun 24, 2004 11:28 pm

i think the main thing is bulk, so players in their rookie year should look thinner then they do when they played for 7-10 years. I guess a good option is to link the strength and the physical attributes to the player size. that way you can give them the initial height weight, and attributes but then as they grow, the model grows proportionally

The ability to have players shed weight or add muscle in Dynasty Mode would be great and quite realistic. Seperating features such as hairstyles and facial hair from the cyberfaces wouldn't be a bad idea though. The ability to modify a player's hairstyle without editing the .fsh file would be handy, though there would need to be a lot of different hairstyles in several different hair colours to be a worthwhile feature.
