How to convert Street 07 to 2005

Postby JaoSming on Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:26 am

Alright you guys, I'm lazy and really dont want to do this so Im going to tell you how to convert NBA Street 07 to 2005.

Part A (the Roster)
First thing's first, take your favorite roster and save a 2nd copy of it and call it "Street". Open up that roster's teams.dbf and change all of the team's 4 letter abbreviations from their city name to their team name. (e.g. bost > celt, chic > bull, dall > mave, utah > jazz, ect ect) Doing this allows you to have both street and normal NBA arena's and jerseys installed at the same time without conflict. You don't need to touch the 2 letter abbreviation unless you want to make street specific menu stuff.

After that is done you need to re-make your teamgear.dbf. I recommend that you only do a home and away for each team. This is actually optional, so if you dont want to do this, you dont have to. Just remember, if you dont all the regular jerseys will show up as available to use in jersey select, and unless you convert them they wont work. and you will crash.

Changing the location.dbf is optional I have provided a .txt document at the bottom of this page that will tell you which team uses which court.

Part B (The Jerseys)
Alright for jerseys it gets fun. You need to take each home and away jersey and change the abbreviations inside the .viv so they work with the new abbreviation. This isnt hard...just tedious.

So lets start with Atlanta. This is streetball so lets use the practice jerseys for an example. Goto your uniforms folder copy&paste the atlapr1a.viv. Then rename it from "copy of atlapr1a.viv" to "hawkaway.viv" then with hex workshop (or a hex editor of your choosing) open up that .viv and use a Find and Replace command (ctrl+h in hex workshop) Find "atlapr1a" and change it to "hawkaway". Then do that for atlapr1h to hawkhome and continue for all of the other 29 nba teams.

Part C (The Courts)
Weee the meat of the mod, the courts. Alright so after downloading v0.1 + the bug fix#1 (for the SUM Practice courts) extract all of those courts to your 2005/sgsm/stadia folder. That's it......

....kinda, remember the only thing that cannot be converted from 06 or 07 to 2005 are the backboard.ebo's. So to fix this issue we are going to use 2005's Practice Backboard and Urban Backboard. So open up your prac.viv and extract everything with "bbd" in its name to a temporary folder. Then open up your urba.viv and do the same as above but extract to a 2nd temporary folder. Then you just rename all the 'urba's and 'prac's to the needed team abbreviation and throw it in your sgsm folder.

The following courts should use the Urban Backboard:
Urban Day/Night, Rec Center, Courtyard, Midnight, Concrete Park, downtown, and the 2000 practice court.

The following courts should use the Practice Backboard:
Tandy, 2007, 2005, and SUM practice Courts.

Example: Boston uses the concrete park court so goto the folder with the urban backboard files, rename the abbreviation from "urba" to "celt" and that's it!

For let's say Cleveland who uses the SUM Practice Court open up the folder with the practice backboard in it and rename "prac" to "cava" and throw it in your sgsm.

To make renaming the files easier use the File Renamer

Alrighty so those are the main things to get the Street 07 mod converted for Live 2005. If you need ANY help feel free to ask me by any means.

download all needed files from http://street.nba-live.com

and here is the .txt file i used
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/toro/f.txt
you can ignore the abbreviations that are to the right of the courts. Those were just helping me rename the court .vivs
Opinions are my own.

@ Jaosming is it just the same Roster conversion tutorial for the Classic Teams made by BAYAG?
