Excuse me, xcab...
I don't understand you. I've never patched any .ebo file - I even don't know them. Files that are necessary to patch in NBA Live 2004 are mostly .viv or .fsh files. There are audio files (.asf) as well. But no .ebo files...
moreover, I don't know any appearance.dbf file...
Only necessary files to patch players are:
1. player portrait: .fsh files in GAMEDIR/render/xprtteam.viv (for example LEJAMES.fsh for LeBron James' portrait)
2. cyberface and tattoos/body skin: .fsh files in GAMEDIR/render/xplayer.viv (for example lejames.fsh for LeBron James' face and tattoos)
3. register file, where the patched files are connected to a specific place (=player):
a) save your rosters inside the game. It will create a folder called 001 in my documents/NBA Live 2004/saves
b) open the players.dbf file of this created folder (for example with DB commander)
c) rename one player you don't need any more to the player you like to add (for exmple rename Jalen Rose to Derrick Rose)
d) optimize realism in changing size, weight and other perimeters, for example the FACE will be selected in column 'PLAYERPKG'. To use a patched CF file you should fill in the field with the patched .fsh file name in xplayer.viv. (I've arranged that, for example, Derrick Rose' CF is integrated in Pat Burke, so it's PABURKE)
e) start the game
f) load the roster files inside the game
g) your added player should be in the place you've selected in DB commander
i) repeat this for many players and you'll get your own patch...so there are no .ebo files, appearance.dbf, etc.
That's all I can say about
C ya
