2007-08 BIG PACKAGE by Mel_Fox_76

Postby Mel_Fox_76 on Mon Apr 20, 2009 11:34 am

Hi folks!
I spent a lot of time with editing my favourite game NBA Live 2004. I was concentrating everything on the 2007-2008 sesaon, because it has been one of the greatest seasons since a couple of years. All in all I have changed 95 players, the picture shows a choice of those I like best.

The folders are sorted alphabetically by the internal name, that means:
'changed players I' ---> aawilli (=Deron Williams) to giarena (=Gilbert Arenas)
'changed players II' --> glrice_ (=Delonte West) to mrjacks (=Chris Paul)
'changed players III' --> nehilar (=Ronnie Brewer) to zyilgau (=Zydrunas Ilgauskas)

So some players have been displaced. To use the faces with fitting bodies, I suggest to download my save file '001.zip'.

I spent a looooooooooooooot of time by choosing REALISTIC parameters for the players, that means if you select to simulate a whole 82 games season, nearly every player will have original 2007-08 stats (especially the Superstars). Imagine or not, I calculated the stats of nearly every player down/up from real minutes to less/more mintues he plays in the game when simulated. It's very close to reality. Moreover players from offensive strong teams (like Golden State, LA Lakers, Phoenix, ...) will score more points when traded to offensive weak teams (like Portland, Cleveland,...).
Actually I don't have any picture of the sneakers I changed as well. I used NBA Live 2006 uploaded data with 2007 shoes of this forum and changed colours, size (I found out the secret to integrate them in a way, that the shoebackside-textures are connected). All in all there are 113 changed sneakers!

I upload three shoe files:
‘sneakers -pictures- 1.zip’ is a folder with my edited shoe pics
'sneakers -pictures- 2.zip' is another folder with my edited shoe pics
‘sneakers fsh data’ is a folder with the changed shoes.fsh data (senseful if you use my save file, ‘cos players will then wear right sneakers!)

My changes on jerseys are less than the others. I’ve just changed Denvers away (just a lil colour change), Utah home and away (2007-2008 jersey, well done) and Cleveland home and away (just a lil change, but now the red colour is realistic!). And the most time needed the third dark blue Cav jersey. I think it’s not that bad…;-)

They are in the ‘jerseys.zip’ folder.

To decompress the zip-files you should use 7zip, in my point of view the best software.

I hope you're gonna enjoy my stuff...

You can choose between two opportunities:
1. Download all patches in .viv and .fsh files and overwrite Originals here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32SSW838
or
2. Download specific patched files: search below

Moreover I've prepared my 2009-2010 ROSTERS.

The secret of 'connecting' textures when integrating shoes from NBA Live 2006 into 2004 is a different 3-D shoe raw-model.
That's why you need to
1. Start a photo editing software (I use the very old Adobe Photodeluxe Home Edition 3.0, which I bought on ebay for 2 $)
2. Minimize the solution down to 128x128 pixel on 72 pixel/inch.
3. Stretch the picture (don't keep proportions) to 121 (wide) x 128 (high) pixel manually from the RIGHT side
--> a 7 pixel wide line should be rested.
4. Adjust contrast and brightness down.
5. Test your result in the game
6. Probably adjust the contrast and brightness again
7. Repeat that until the result makes you happy;-)

You can see examples, if you download my shoe -pictures- files.

Next update. D-Wade's, Gooden's, Harris' and Ginobili's heads optimized.
Cavs third jersey as well (better blue). Please take a look at Gooden. I think he's great. Especially the hair and the breast were difficult to create.

Actually...I spent my time with that 'superpatch thing' I downloaded from a link in this forum. There are several nice things, but I had to be very concentrated to find 'em. There are many bad made players (plus doubled and tripled players with different names), so that it was a tough job.
Now I was able to improve some players. I'll upload them when I think it's complete. There 3 or 4 players left, but sometimes a player to create can last many hours. So I can't say when exactly.
And I've got aquestion. Does anybody have the Tattoos for Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James? I mean the whole arms, especially jor Lebron.
Thanx so far

Thanx @ Paulisu22!!! With a lil time of adjusting it works fine!
Now I'd like to present a BIG jersey update. Except MY cleveland blue jersey, the Utah jerseys and the Denver jerseys all others are taken from the SUPERCHANGE by elgin0103, but I changed color intensity, brightness and contrast so that the jersey are not too colorful. Yet, they're looking almost like originals not like patches.
Additionally I'm close to finish my playerupdate. There are just few players left that are important to me.
So enjoy my stuff

That's a very global question. So I expect you to have no experience with patching something in NBA Live. First of all you need the right software. Personally, I use 'EA Graphics Editor' in combination with Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 3.0. The first one to integrate new data in the game and the second to edit faces, jerseys, shoes (and courts, but I didn't create courts --> I advise everybody to take these made by Rix. They are almost perfect).
So you definitely need EA Graphic Editor to integrate my patches in your game. Then you should implement the files (files with .fsh, .viv or .o ending) to the install path (for example c:\programmes\NBA Live 2004) in the right folder.

Patches for shoes are in \render (folder) in the xplrcmn.viv\shoes.fsh file.
Patches for the player faces (just the head) are in \render in the xplayer.viv file.
Patches for the courts are surprisingly in \render in the xcourt.viv file.
Patches for the lil in-game-icons (players) are in \render in the xprtteam.viv file.

There are some more, the only important other things are (in my opinion) the symbols for the arenas, so that when you patched (for example) milwaukee's stadium, you will see the patched court in the selection menu. The file is in \renfe xarena.viv file.

If you have EA Graphic editor, you can open these files and change things, that means to implement my or other patched files. Here is a link for knowing how to use EA Graphic editor:
http://www.nba-live.com/eagraph/

The download link for the software doesn't work...:-( I don't know why. May be you could search for EA Graphic Editor on the web...

Another important software is DB Commander Pro 2000. This software is necessary to change things in the game, for example player size, name, weight, birthdate, school, dunking ability, head gear, eye color, team gear, jersey type, team names...

This software helps you to edit .dbf-files that are in the second installation path (in English Windows versions '\my documents\NBA live 2004'). It makes then sense to change the files of a savegame, for example in \my documents\NBA live 2004\saves\000.

U can still download it here:
http://download.nba-live.com/index.php?act=view&id=3

Good luck and become a good patcher, so that we will get great patches from you...;-)

WOW!!! Amazing patches! Way to go!!!!

Just one question: is there an April 2009 roster update to go with these patches? I mean, there's probably some edits to the data etc., so if you have a 2009 rosters to go with this - it would be great!

Anyway, kudos!!!

That isn't possible! I spent so many hours with editing player attributes to make the game much more realistic than ever before. I can't do this once again for the 08-09 season. My goal is to optimize my 07-08 patch as good as possible.
Actually, I think I've finished almost everything that's important to me...except the super Tattoos for Chris Andersen made by KBryant8, but he probably doesn't find his old patch file for the birdman...:-(
What ever!
Here's probably the last picture of new players until I'm gonna upload my newest patch version 1.03!!!
