64-18?!!!!! let me guess, you traded fizer for garnett, robinson for lebron, chandler for duncan, and crawford for kidd. :D either that or you unretired the whole jordan dynasty and magically brought them through a time warp to now in their primes (with the exception of luc longley who you have undoubtebly have enhanced to 7'6)

anyway, you didnt answer, do you use pro hop? or do you try to resist?

I traded Fizer, Rose and Mason Jr for KG and signed Tim Hardaway. :)

I try to limit myself when it comes to the pro-hop. I will use it if I need to score in a close game that I'm trying to win, but I don't use it every time down the floor. I take a lot of jumpshots, especially in the season season that I'm now playing.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE A MORE SLOW DOWN REALSITIC GAME..MORE SO LIKE THE (PACERS-PISTONS) SERIES..THEN THESE SLIDERS ARE FOR YOU..THESE ARE SLUGFEST SLIDERS..WHCH HAVE FEW FAST BREAKS AND MAKE YOU PASS THE BALL!!!

Another thing..At the beginnine of the game..Go to the computer side..Go to gameplay settings and playbook...And turn the defensive pressure up high...And put double team on all of your STAR players...eg me spurs on..Tim and Tony...etc..This will make the game TOUGH!

PLEASE TRY THESE I WANT TO SEE IF THESE WORKS....

dan wrote:Hi, i´ve got two questions.

Is there a way to make the cpu not make double team every time i get the ball to the low post?, because it is so easy to just pass the ball to the ungarded one and get an open shot, and this makes it too easy to score or at least to get a good shot, and it doesn´t make you work a little more the offensive play.
I´ve tried moving the interception slider from 40 to 50, so i can not pass the ball so easily, and it´s got better, but i still can make it quite easily, and more than 50 seems to be too much.
Usually as a consecuence my C or PF are the top assistants of the game.

The second question. In my opinion the shots made wit a hand in the face should not go in, at least 95% of them, maybe less when nearer of the rim, and also less when these shots were made by star players. I don´t know if there is a way, tweaking the sliders, to make them miss more of these shots, because it´s really frustrating when you make a good defence and force them to shoot in the last second but they put it in even with a hand on their face. i mean it should be easier to defend than to atack, so you would be forced to try to find the best shot or give it to your best man and try to score with him.
I´ve tried putting poor realeased shoot to 0 in both user and cpu, but it still does not work.

Thanks.

Use my sliders and read the bottom bit...

So do teams that do run. Like the Nets, break with these sliders? I have found that usually on superstar level that the cpu has the ability to use super speed to stop your breaks, but it breaks like crazy? So is this an issue with your sliders?

My Sliders

Postby Blaxican8504 on Tue Jul 06, 2004 6:02 am

If you want I could post my sliders later. Right now all I have are stats from a game that I just finished.

Code: Select all
Entire Game    Washington      Toronto(me)
Points             107             112
Bench              17              35
Field Goals       44/87           45/90
FG %              .506            .500
3 PT FG            4/17            7/19
3 PT %            .235            .368
FTs                15/20          15/15
FT%               .750            1.000
Rebounds           39              40
Off. Rebs          6               8
Def. Rebs          33              32
Blocks             4               11(rarely happens)
Steals             4               3
Assists            21              33
Turnovers          8               7
Fouls              14              11

Fastbreak: Teams usually break when they can and I average somewhere in the teens in this department

FG%: For both teams this averages around high 40s low 50s. Sometimes it drops to low 40s and high 30s and can get as high as the mid 50s.

I'm finding now that playing the CPU on superstar level and normal sliders is just way too easy.

Could someone please give me some realistic and challenging sliders please?

Cheers,

Can anyone recommend some decent, realistic sliders for 5 or 8 minute games in Starter level?

I have some suggestions for 8 minute quarters at Starter. Some suggestions are number ranges -

Global Sliders

Game speed: 50-55
Free Throw Difficulty: 70-100
Boundary Force Field: 60
Injury Freq: 50
Fatigue Effect: 50
Charge/Block Freq: 40
Shooting Foul Freq: 40
Reach-In Foul Freq: 60-100
In-Air Collision Foul Freq: 80-100

User:
Steal Ability: 50
Interception Ability: 0-20 (I found stealing the inbounds pass to be too easy at higher levels in Starter)
Shot Blocking: 0
Dunk/Layup Blocking: 20
User Freestyle: 50
Dunk vs Layup Freq: 30
Substitution: (depends on your preference)
On-Ball Assist: 75
Offensive Rebounds: 90-100
Defensive Rebounds: 40-50
Fake Out Discipline: (doesn't seem to matter)
Short Range %: 35
Medium Range %: 40
Long Range %: 50
Dunk %: 35-40
Layup %: 30-35
Adjusted Shot %: 35-40
On-Ball Physical Defense: 60
Poor Release %: 30
Double Team: 0 (User double teams are too effective in Starter)

CPU:
Steal Ability: 45-50
Interception Ability: 45-50 (CPU Steal & Interception should be high enough for your team to average at least 10 turnovers/game)
Shot Blocking: 0
Dunk/Layup Blocking: 25-30
CPU Freestyle: 50
Dunk vs Layup Freq: 25
Substitution: 50
Offensive Rebounds: 90-100
Defensive Rebounds: 40-50
Fake Out Discipline: 100
Short Range %: 40
Medium Range %: 40
Long Range %: 45
Dunk %: 35-40
Layup %: 30-35
Adjusted Shot %: 35-40
Adjusted Shot Freq: 45
On-Ball Physical Defense: 60
Poor Release %: 30
Double Team: 30

Fakeout discipline is the frequency of your player doing one of those "crossed" animations the computer does. When you're defending on the ball and the computer does freestyle, then your guy can look like he got crossed w/ a lower fakeout discipline.

I see. In that case, a 50 could be okay.

i noticed that user substitution at 50 is not enough. starters play too much. bench players played less than 20 mins.
i tried 75 and it was better.

I'm using Andrew's sliders and i find it quite realistic and had to do minimum adjustment for my style of play.

I play on All Star 8 minute quarters. I'm writing this from memory so maybe, if anyone's interested, i can post the exact nos. later on.

I lowered speed = 40.

I loweerd Andrew's Boundary Force Field by 10 coz i hate it that the players are bouncing off each other when i call for the pick.

i raised medium range shots by 10 for both CPU and user. this resulted in decent number of attempted and converetd mid range jumpers. very nice.

And that's it. I had a very memorable season game yesterday where my Cavs won 93-90 over the Hawks. Z had a 2 handed block on Harrington's dunk in the dying seconds to preserve the lead that we lost in the 4th Q.

I also play with All-Star difficulty 9 minute quarters and modified Andrew's sliders a bit.

I raised interception ability to 45 (both for user and CPU) to achieve more realistic gameplay.
I haven't got any statistics to copy at the moment, but 9 minute quarters give final scores between 95 and 110. :)

Terry wrote:About CPU's shot clock beater. Here's my experience. The key is to force the ball handler to put the ball on the floor and don't let he gets his feet set. If he stands still, he will almost make it every time unless you block it. Try to bounce him away and jump a little bit later than usual because CPU seems like to fake away to beat the shot clock. Or when you see the clock is about 5-6 seconds, call a double team and switch to half court trap, then control another man to pick up the guy who will make a catch and shoot.

"Try to bounce him away and jump a little bit later..."
OR earlier. I have found out it also helps. When clock is running down and you know that CPU is going to shoot, jump just a second before shot and it's going to be missed one.

I need to come up with new settings... changing the shooting foul context changes everything, as you no longer shoot with the same confidence. So I've removed this post.
