My Rockets hosting the Magic.

Code: Select all
Entire Game         Orlando          Houston

Bench Scoring       34               32
Field Goals         41/80            36/83
Field Goal %        .512             .434

Free Throws         14/20            22/32
Free Throw %        .700             .688
Rebounds            46               40
Off. Rebounds       5                12
Def. Rebounds       41               28

Assists             21               16
Turnovers           14               8
Fouls               20               13

I cant believe I lost this high scoring game, but as my star player fouled out I had to take the final shot with Piatkowski and it hit the back iron.

It is pretty impossible to stop the pro hob. T-Mac used the pro hob almost everytime he touched the ball and went to the lane. He finished with 37points.

Tough loss..I'm really pissed right now

JohnnyBlaze410, how did you get the sliders in a .txt style thing. Is there a place where sliders are saved as a .txt file or something. Please help because tab-alting and taking screenshots are time-consuming, and I forget once I'm in the game.

Just go to save stats, shud be in there, well was in 2003, then you go to my documents/NBA Live 2004/ then its either game stats or player stats and its laready there in notepad.

P.S. im not 100% sure about dat cos it was there in 2003 but i dont know bout 2004, havent looked yet.

Sliders settings are stored in file "settings.dat" which is located in "my documents\NBA Live 2004\settings. It's an encrypted file and opening it with the notepad won't work for editing.

I played the game using andrews slider.. But i tweaked it a little bit.. just made the cpu's steal ability and interception ability to 45, because i was having a very easy time passing the ball when it is set to 40... 12min superstar.. I used new orleans... here's the stats

almost perfect stats...just too many 3 point attempts, too few fouls and free throws, the rest is perfect.

seems like those are the returning problems with all the stats you guys have posted. Hopefully it can be helped without a patch, cuz ea won't get us one.

Hey, in superstar mode use the defense "half court trap". Now, the CPU stops the ridiculous 3pts atpts..... :)

How do you play? Cause I have also tried Andrews sliders ... you can see the results on page 2 of this thread, vs. Indiana, 12 minute quarters, 121 - 114 ... So the only difference must be the playing style. Cause I dont get this results when playing 12 minutes.

thanks for the sliders, but the Grizzlies should be in the motion offense because they are a fast pace team along with all the teams you put in there. I made a few changes for my sliders, but thank you for finding those because I get alot of high scoring games with alot of sliders and I want my scores in the 90's and 80's sometimes.

I just used half court trap from start to finish... U have to slow down the game, and make sure force the cpu to turnovers or force them to take bad shots.. And try dominating the rebounding department and use the clock wisely.. I attempted a lot of 3's coz thats the style of play of the hornets.. and im having a hard time scoring inside points because i dont have a very good low post scorer..

I'll try that Half court trap. And your last point is my problem exactly. I have to rely on the outside shot, cause I cant get the ball into the paint and to the basket as easily as in live 03, but I have improved on that department lately.

why would everyone change these sliders? the offensive rebounds doesnt need to be that high in order to grab enough of them. you just have to turn the box out off and the crash boards on. and also i know the computer shoots lights out during hot streaks in the game, that doesnt mean the shooting should be changed. i found out that if you leave the all the shooting @ 50 and turn up the cpu adj shot % to about 55, the cpu will tend to miss more closer shots.

basically it seems that a lack of defensive experience in causing us to change sliders so we will have a better outlook on the game. cuz if lose all the time the game wouldnt be fun but who says that we are suppose to win everygame. defense wins games.

Freestyle Effect and defence strenght has an essential role in game realism. Freestyle must be lower, so you can't make so many points from the low post. Strenght ,as I know, won't let you to to get so easy near the basket with your PF or C .

*What to do that pro-hop jump and after that layup/dunk wouldn't be so easy to realise?

I think I got pretty realistic stats from my last game.

Code: Select all

I also selected offensive strategies for both teams. (thanks to showstopper496 for posting the list.)

User:
Offensive Rebounds: 90
Defensive Rebounds: 50
Short Range %: 35
Medium Range %: 40
Long Range %: 50

CPU:
Offensive Rebounds: 90
Defensive Rebounds: 50
Short Range %: 30
Medium Range %: 40
Long Range %: 35

why would everyone change these sliders? the offensive rebounds doesnt need to be that high in order to grab enough of them. you just have to turn the box out off and the crash boards on. and also i know the computer shoots lights out during hot streaks in the game, that doesnt mean the shooting should be changed. i found out that if you leave the all the shooting @ 50 and turn up the cpu adj shot % to about 55, the cpu will tend to miss more closer shots.

basically it seems that a lack of defensive experience in causing us to change sliders so we will have a better outlook on the game. cuz if lose all the time the game wouldnt be fun but who says that we are suppose to win everygame. defense wins games.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but the reduced field goal sliders are intended to reduce field goal percentage for both the user and CPU. The challenge is still there with the sliders, the scores are just lower and more realistic. Or at least, that is the intention.

Its strange, i upped the medium, and close range shooting range and it seems like they started driving more and taking closer shots, while the long range i lowered to bout 30 and maybe its me, but seems like they slowed down the shooting outside, lol.
i could be mistaken.

i try and leave the sliders to what they are, then if i see a realistic problem, i adjust them. im sure yous did the same.

joysln23, i agree with.
I never touch offence and defence rebounds.
to touch fake displine, seems kinda cheatin if ya ask.
highering it to 100%?
Real life nba players do get faked out. %100 is sayin they never get faked out.
id rather leave it at %50 and if i see a prob, serious prob, then move it up a bit.
my blocks are at 1! lol, they still get kinda ridiculous, seems more to happen now with 1 player, like houston goes nuts on swattin sg's balls.

Is anyone able to get the ai to shoot 15-20 foot jump shots? i leave them open for it all the time but they decide to drive in and get a charge instead, or step back to shoot a 3.
