@Jkers:
That's it! Thanks man!
@Kyle0391:
I can just add that there are different styles of patches. Some are doing great patches in their own style. I'm trying to create patches that are looking like the Originals in the game (other's patches are often looking like NBA Live 2006 Players integrated to the 2004 version).
But anyway, I named my Thread '... what do you think about it'... it's allowed to prefer other patches:-)
In my opinion the best way would be to take best parts of different patches to combine for the ultimate patch.
For example, I think my Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Matt Barnes, Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Thompson, Drew Gooden (hair!), Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love, Kendrick Perkins, Danny Granger, Andrea Bargnani and OJ Mayo are the best face patches of these players that are available. Moreover I have never seen better sneaker patches than mine (some are just using those 06 Sneakers by Xiaoju and don't edit them for 04. The result are sneakers where textures are not perfectly matching), all my face patches can open their mouth when celebrating a score (many others look ugly because of a wrong combination of textures and 3D-Raw-models, the .o-files!), I spent a lot of time with adjusting colours for player skins, I looked at many pictures on the web with some reference players to create them in perfect balance to each other. The same for jerseys. Many patched jerseys are nice looking, but much more colourful and with much more contrast than the Originals. I've fixed that for Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cleveland, Indiana, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Toronto and Utah. Moreover my exclusive Starting screen with LeBron and the more than 180 current portraits for xprtteam.viv are not bad as well.
The most special thing in my patches are the savegames --> ROSTERS. If you select my rosters and simulate a season with Original NBA schedule, without Fantasy draft, without injuries and trades and afterwards look at EVERY PLAYER ON EVERY TEAM (!!!!) they will give you the ORIGINAL STATS of the 2007-2008 season in a relatively way, that means for example:
Amar’e Stoudemire’s Stats in 0708 were (per game) 33.9 min, 2.3 OR, 6.8 DR, 0.8 St, 2.1 Blk, 25.2 Pts on 59% fg with 31 attempted treys (79 Games).
In my patch (you can’t determine the time a player is playing) he plays about 39.5 min. So just take out a calculator and divide 39.5/33.9 that’s the factor for all stats by Amare. If he will give you then 2.7 OR, 7.9 DR, 0.9 St, 2.4 Blk and 29.4 Pts on 59% fg with 37 attempted treys (82 Games) you should understand that the quality of patches can have many faces……………………………………..
By the way, I did that for almost ALL players (that takes time, man), so Jkers was probably wrong when he thought RyFF studios would invest more time. Except Assists (more than 99Drib +99Pass impossible --> more than 9 As in 36 min impossible), attempted free throws (offensive weak players always get more ft than in reality and good players get less than in reality) and to much offensive rebounds for starting five players with less than 0.8 OR per game (less not possible!) the STATS are very close to the ORIGINALS.
Another part of the stats is the TEAM orientation. Simulate a season and look at the TEAM STATS. You will find out, that most teams come close to the real stats (logical when looking at same player stats), especially in the way of being a defensive or offensive team. Consequently players of teams like Phoenix, Golden State, Lakers or Indiana will score more points when playing for defensive orientated teams like Cleveland, Boston, Portland or Philly (player will get more shots). The last 1.5 years I spent much more than –I think- 300 hours for all my patches, sometimes more than 10 hours a day. That’s a waste of lifetime for most people, and impossible for those who are not students;-), but if you enjoy something, you can’t stop doing it (just my girlfriend can stop me doing patches;-).
On the other hand Jkers was right to say I’m working alone. That’s why I can’t patch every face like my bests. Other updates need more time that I don't have, but I'm continueing with lower speed.
So here is my overall message: On one hand it's a question of taste. On the other hand you need to think about what's important for you. Some patches are changing many graphic details and create kind of a new game. Mine is trying to let the game like it is and just to bring this as close to reality as I can.
Good night
