After watching it whole (skimmed through before to have it up fast)...

The player absolutely sucked. Knew some advanced bindings like pass to cutting man, but otherwise was absolutely terrible on defense, ball hogged whole game and couldn't get anything going while spamming dribble moves.

Starting FT rating seems to be 60.
One bad shot or turnover resets the whole takeover meter.

Game goals:
In the first game he had two goals set up:
- Win the game
- Keep [opposing star] to under 20 points.
They managed the first one, but not the second one.
Got 500 VC for the win, 250 VC for salary and some bits for stats and teammate grade.

The goals might actually be nice VC bonuses after all, we'll se how the other goals are prized, but on the first look they might not be like in MT where you get goal of "get 20 points and 25 rebounds" for 20 MT.

That's probably not ideal - a bit too harsh - but I suppose it is a pretty effective failsafe in terms of making sure it isn't OP.

So scripted games are back, and Flying Dragon uses the cutting online cheese. Cool.

PD: I wouldn't mind if he had spent way more time editing his character lol. We still have face presets, we just need to see how much those white spots changed the face.

Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Luckily this appears to be the Prelude so we can play with face editing to our heart's content tomorrow.

Seems a little linear but I like the idea of starting overseas

I hope they give you the option to skip the overseas/G-League arc so we can play a full 18-19 NBA season. Unless they're doing it so it takes place during the 17-18 season. That would make more sense I guess.

Apparently we can skip it on subsequent playthroughs, though whether that means starting in the NBA at the beginning of the year isn't clear.

Honestly no clue, because in the draft scene the picks were:

12th pick, LA Lakers, Corey Harris
??, ??, Robert McGuiness
44th pick, Milwaukee Bucks, Alexander Thomas
60th pick, Portland Trailblazers, Walter Aisley

So it definitely seems like a fictional draft with fictional players.
Last time Lakers had 12th pick in the NBA draft was in 1993. Bucks had #44 in 2010 and Portland had #60 in 1986 (interestingly enough they drafted Dražen Petrović, who was inducted into Naismith HoF in 2002 and FIBA HoF in 2007 after he died in 1993).

That's interesting; less putting yourself in the NBA as the main fictional element, and more replacing parts of the league with a larger amount of fictional elements. We have seen that with Jackson Ellis, Justice Young, Denver Levins, and Shammy Wells, but it's pretty much been contained to your team (aside from Ellis, of course).
