Some DDS files unable to be opened?

There are certain dds files that won't be open or even converted off websites,

for example this DDS file in global.iff cannot be opened: headband_color.ff29da8b1db64346.dds

while this one can: iris_color_brown.13fbc4505c14a413.dds

and hair textures cannot be opened as well, so I don't know how to change the color of any hair.

Ah, that explains it. So is it possible to modify the color of the hair using the .SCNE file? I'm not really worried about hair files though, I used headband as an example cause I want to modify the NBA logo into a nike swoosh

all DDS file work properly. If you cant see the texture then it is probably due to the compression type. I use a program called compressonator to open the DDS file that would otherwise be invisible. If you need any further help , you will need to use google to do more research on DDS compression
