My opinion is that we should use a current stadium, but with edited dornas (because the table is the same length anyway), and just make it retro accurate. The retro stadiums kill me, they look horrible.

You can't do this with many stadiums, a lot of the stuff in those current stadiums are inaccurate for the part in time. For example stanchions, backboards, technology used in the stadium like computers, LED displays. If anything that just makes it even more innacurate.

Bro just a question; let's say we want to make 94-95 Knicks jersey compatible with "Nike" jersey model....other than change .RDAT file we need to remap UV?

That's all?

Thanks in advance

Well I would just recreate the texture so it fits the Nike UV map, like I've been doing already.

Pretty sure we can't edit cloth files at all in the current blender plugin anyways.

So I just open the nike shorts and jersey and map desidered "old" uniform to the new one correct?

Than I change .RDAT jersey and shorts type 2 Nike... correct?

I'm not sure what you're saying to me, old textures won't work with the Nike model. I had to recreate the texture, it's not possible to use the other models texture with the Nike model.

In sxxx.iff, which file is responsible for arena lighting?

I don't want to edit it or anything, I'm just experimenting with custom arenas/backboards.

Any progress on applying uniforms to teams like what we can do with logos and arenas via cheat engine? I'm working on a skeleton roster (incomplete classic team roster using only players already in the game's files) right now. Here's an example of what's going down so far:

Use CE to search by string text then type u015lal scroll down and use browse memory region on one of the bottom most results. If you are using one of those expansion team slots you can see in the memory view there is like 6 teams in a row with lakers jerseys if you say use expansion team 6 you would overwrite the name of the last home and away lakers ones

As example:
I can change the Cincinnati Lions to wear an old cavs jersey home and nike cavs away by doing this (also then hex color edit to match colors)

Just find out where your teams jerseys are, I start from the bottom of the list or back end of the roster with the blank teams
To change accessory colors etc do like last year and look for the hex codes under the jerseys and match them up with your team or whatever you want

There is also a way to swap GID's which would change all their possible jersey options but I'm not aware of how to do so yet

If you change those first two 633 633 to 14's then the dornas will change to the current knicks dornas
I'm not sure which does which but one of those or maybe both can change your dornas

Really clear thanks!

Hope that those will be added to Carolus cheat table...

It works but maybe working on some retro dornas should be better....what file is used for retro stadiums? Seems like a generic one....

...speaking of accurate retro stadium...using CE tables I just gave 2001 Kings a custom stadium with correct backboard and a more "lit" stadium.....

....need to work more on it becouse we can choose 16 different stadium a 5 basket type...pretty sure I can give classic teams some love ^_^

in archive 0K / folder named dornas there is 633.iff

pulling apart 633 you get
Image
opening up the json file
Image
and here is what dorna 2ksports_03 looks like
Image

The generic dornas are located in archive 0E I sort by name in the explorer then scroll to folder dorna/generic and you'll see them

Keep in mind that when you edit those, all teams in the entire game will have retro dornas.

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong section. I was thinking of doing a 2016-2017 roster for 2k18. I successfully imported some of last years portraits into explorer, however when I save to modded folder they don't show up in game.

Is there a new explorer update I'm missing? do the portraits differ from last year? i.e size etc..

I was able to drag Tare850's portraits in the modded folder and they work fine....

Maumau, you can use retro backboards (the MSG one, for example) as generic (custom) baskets too. I discovered this recently.

You just need to do the following:
-If you want the "Knicks Arena" baskets, for example, grab its arena file (s633.iff? I don't rememeber the exact ID) and place it into Modded/screate folder
-Rename it to "basket_001.iff" (or "basket_002", 003, 004, whatever, one of those ID's)
-Open the file with 7zip and delete every SCNE file, except "baskets.SCNE"

Unfortunately, we can't change stanchion colors AND the arena lighting gets transferred over to the generic arena. But it's cool nevertheless. I personally love retro backboards.

I think so. For example, if you follow all the steps I wrote previously without deleting the SCNE files, the baskets appear along with all the rest of the arena, which end up overriding the custom arena itself. I think it's just a matter of manipulating the right files.

It works I just had to delete crowd.Crowddata in the basket.iff

So this is the custom arena lighting, right?

I love that backboard, by the way.
