Converted CF's from 2K17: Full Tutorial, '06 Sheed RLSD!

phpBB [video]

Important:

*The CF ID of a player missing from 2K18 will cause the player to be invisible when you put it in the modded folder. The files of any releases will come labeled with their original CF ID from 2K17 so make sure you change it to a different # when you put in your modded folder.I just use the original 2K17 ID#’s because they are easily identifiable and the numbers people will use will vary.

All you have to do is change the ID# to either the number of an empty slot or to the CF ID of a player you don’t mind overwriting, by renaming the png.iff and face.iff files. For example, when I was testing my modded CF earlier, I was using the slot 9013, which is in the 9001-9030 range where created player bases are. The files in my modded folder were: face9013.iff and png9013.iff

Check out this thread for the CF ID List for 2K18: http://forums.nba-live.com/viewtopic.php?f=237&t=104114 it makes it easy to find an ID# to use.

As for the portraits released, rename them as well if you don't want to overwrite whichever ID# it comes with.*

Each release (of mine) will include the following:

1) A converted CF that is unaltered and in the state it was when it first appeared in edit player screen (with adjustments needing to be made). This is for those that do not have 2K17 or who want to take their own creative route from start to finish. I'm not allowed to send anyone default 2K17 files to convert yourself, so the best I can do is give you a player freshly converted to 2K18.

2) My own modded, converted CF that is game ready, for those that don't have much experience modding or that want to be able to just plug the player into one of their rosters. If you would like to play with my modded CF but it is just a different version of the player from the one I chose, feel free to use my work as a base and use them in your rosters (unless you are playing a cracked game or making a paid mod).

3) A player portrait that aligns with the version of the player in my modded CF.

The Arenas conversion looks great, can’t wait to be able to use this for a retro wizards team

Thanks for creating this thread. I will upload Justice Young, Grant Alabaster, Denver Levins, Black mask Lebron and 100 point Wilt since I have those completed. (If someone has converted them please also upload your version, we may have different bodytypes). My links will include cyberface and Player DNA data.

I think you should just release your final work and then you can release other version if someone specifically asks. Also I don't think we can post the original 2k17 files, that is against forum rules.

Oh gotcha my bad I didn’t know about that being against the rules. I will edit the post.

*Now updated

Great work man! Also a question: is it possible to convert shoes from older 2k to 2k18? I'm talking about older models of wade signature li-ning shoes.

Could you describe more specifically what’s happening with the jersey? And which converted CF are you referring to?

Yeah sure but I will be converting CF’s missing in 2K18 first.

Yes. It’s kind of lengthy so I PMed you.

FYI - Some players you don't even have to tilt to make the eyes work.

Jamal Mashburn is one of them. No head tilting required, just very slightly moving the eyeballs in. Atleast that's the way it works with 2K18 to 2K17.

Yeah it seems that every now and then you get a really good match as far as the eye line and it works fine.

I have found in 2K18 so far that in worst case scenarios, I even have to go as far as changing the L and R Eyeball x-values in the scene file to match what's in blender after I have lined the eyes up with the reference model. To compensate for the difference in the distance between the eyes.

I do the same thing.

Sometimes the L or R Eyecap value (Which covers both eyecaps) needs to be changed, or I even move them inside the players head, because we can't delete vertices. Sometimes the eyecaps just don't match up, and hiding them doesn't change the look of the player. I had to do it with the Chris Webber I converted.

In regards to the jersey clipping, it really just comes down to trial and error. I've had to go into blender and make adjustments like 15 times for one player in order to remove the clipping. In 2K17, the clipping usually happens in the back shoulders, and the chest. Not sure if it's the same with 2K18. Shrinkwrapping works to make accessories fit and remove the excessive clipping, have you tried shrinkwrapping a 2K18 body onto your 2K17 to 2K18 conversions?

Yes. I have been able to eliminate manually doing some of the adjustments. All I do is select the neck, traps, and top of the back/chest and TEMPORARILY create a new vertex group to shrinkwrap to the other model. It requires some smoothing sculpting afterwards but no more than we were already doing with blend_headShape after shrinkwrapping.

I think it is probably possible. I just have no experience modding shoes, so I can't say for sure. TGSoGood do you have any experience modding shoes or any idea if converting them is possible?
