Can a roster on 2K18 PS4 be transferred to PC?

Talk about NBA 2K18 here.

Can a roster on 2K18 PS4 be transferred to PC?

Postby Kenny4118 on Fri Nov 17, 2017 1:32 am

I have just decided to change to PC Gaming, mostly for the better options of modifying the game. But since the early release on PS4, I have been rebuilding a roster (done), and uploading pics to turn the game into a Indiana High School version.

I was relieved to see my pic uploads were on the server on PC, but was unable to find my finished roster. So I am hoping there is a way to accomplish this before I simply start creating a new one, because it wasn't exactly a lot of fun. It was all 121 teams completely redone with created players size, facial hair and lack of tattoos, as well as ratings and contracts all edited...more simply stated a time consuming huge work load that would love a work around.

Does anyone have a solution?

Not as far as I'm aware. Unfortunately the only solution would be to start over.

I have not...I am going to give that a shot as soon as I get home. I would love for that to be the fix...in all of its simplicity. I just assume it was going to be some strange format altering 50 step saga, which if that was offered as a possible solution, I would have thought that makes sense. However, I should give the flash drive a shot.

That sounds like a great roster. I went to Highschool in Indiana.

Indiana guys who made it to the NBA from my HS era:
Eric Gordon, Greg Oden, George Hill, Courtney Lee,
Jeff Teague, Mike Conley, Rodney Carney ,
Josh Mcroberts, Etwaun Moore, Luke Harangody
Robbie Hummel, Tyler Zeller, etc

So I have been watching tutorials that have been posted throughout. I am a quick study, but I also have very a large deficit of understanding of unmentioned basic program, so likely its going to take me a bit to understand what exactly I am doing to actually know if simply using the flash drive to copy it from PS4 to Pc is going to work.

As far as the roster goes, it wasn't quite like that what you are describing. Although, for 2K 17 I did completely adapt All time NCAA teams. Full roster, a lot of created players because it made no since to have some players only have a past their prime version. As far as created players through console methods, I had far better success making somewhat recognizable to their actual likeness than this year. My gamer tag on PS4 is Kenny4118, all those rosters should still be on the server. This years H.S. roster was completely fictional through created players, I am still in the process of uploading uniform fixes, and court compromises due to not having fully understanding how to hide backgrounds. Once I really get some free time and understanding of how to make the center court layers better with the PC and the concepts posted on here, I will get them finished up. I had set uniform and courts for 121 High Schools with the best available pictures I could internet search. Some are loaded under Kenny4118, but I also have some that I asked a friend to re-upload so that I could add more because of the limit of uploading 60. But most the teams are the top 4 A teams in the state. I live in Connersville, so I also made their conference opponents, and also surrounding area teams, then began filling out by trying to get complete conferences of the best known schools. Eventually, there are not a lot of teams that I would want beyond what I have already done, but I do favors for anyone who wants a particular school done. Some of these uploads have for some reason developed glitches. Have no idea what causes it, but I am also working on fixing some of those in my spare time.

TGsoGood, I want to thank you and all the others who have posted videos and instructions on this site. Although, I am clearly an amateur within this community, I do hope that I can learn enough to actually contribute to the community with some fun roster ideas, or some hopefully nice mods that I have actually pulled off...however far in the future that is!

if you manage to figure how to move rosters from ps4 to pc, it would be great to know.

this roster looks very promising: https://forums.operationsports.com/foru ... alism.html if you figure out how to move rosters to pc.

For anyone interested, I have just decided to recreate the Indiana High School roster for PC. Mostly, because I am struggling to get a working version of 2K17 Explorer. But also because I am such a newbie at PC modding that my concern for making a change to the game that will make the game unusable. I am starting with the base roster posted by TGsoGood, with the unlocked hidden teams. This just adds an additional 20 to 30 teams compared to the PS4 version. My progress thus far has been the creation of several hundred created players, and the deletion of any likeness of players that due to tattoos that cannot be covered up with sleeves or compression pants (but I didn't want to over use either), too much facial hair, or simply do not look passable as a High School player because of age indications. However, hardly any of the players from classic teams or All time teams I also removed because they look terrible.

I will post an update when the roster is complete, as well as uploading it without changing team names so that anyone who is interested in doing something similar with a different states, can begin with at least a roster that is going to hopefully provide the feel of a high school game with limited editing. And if I can figure out how or what all programs I need to actually change the in game team names on the roster creator menu, I will assign High School team names to replace the NBA team names. This will take probably one or two weeks before I can have something upload worthy. I will also need to create more team uniform and court designs due to the addition of the hidden team slots. Which is actually the part I do not mind because I have gotten a lot better at using gimp to make these look much better. Eventually, I would like to also get my court designs into a similar format to where the court designs are simply half court logos to be stretched across the whole floor. And possibly get the 3 pt line moved in to its High School distance and change the coaching staffs to round out the entire package as a whole. But that is what may plan is for now. I do wonder if there is a way to remove defensive 3 second calls removed without utilizing the rule change options in the offseason of My League.

Some additional roster ideas that I have is to make a rosters for Olympic style teams, and All-time NCAA rosters. Both projects will be worked on when the High school roster is completed, unless someone has already done this that I am unaware of, or do not want to wait for me to get around to.

I already have created 122 uniforms and court designs that are accessible in the team downloader inside My League. I think earlier in the thread, I have posted both user names that I have them uploaded on. I had a friend upload about 40 also, his profile name is JoeBrown4life. Also, someone I do not know with the profile name Abovetherim, has also done some really nice Indiana High School Rosters. I don't recall the name, but there are others who have uploaded the larger prep school designs from around the country like Findley Prep, La Lamuer, Oak Hill Academy etc.. Progress on the roster is coming pretty fast, I have finished renaming all the real life players that I deemed usable, and am about to begin placing created players on rosters to see how many more created players I will need. The roster won't be complete for a while still, but it can be played with the normal NBA players just fine.

My PC gamer tag is Kenneth.descombes@4118, which will have the rest. And a correction, the other profile name that has very good designs for Indiana H.S. is AbovePar,not Abovetherim.

Progress Update: I have only about another 100 created players to make to populate fully all 140 to 150 teams slots. Should be done with this stage by the end of the night, no sweat! Next step is to begin adjusting player ratings, and start deciding which team represents which High School. Within that, I will also be adjusting tendencies of players and coaches. May remove recognizable head coaches while I am at it. No reason to have Doc Rivers coaching Muncie South for example. After these steps, it will be ready to upload. I will likely write up a word file in order to give at least my intended matches for teams and High Schools, but more as a guideline if anyone wants to follow it. I still have about 30 additional team and uniform designs to create for the added team slots, as well as probably fixing many that have developed some glitch for whatever reason (if anyone knows why that happens, or how to prevent it...please fill me in).

After upload, if someone who is capable can change the team name and city name within the uploaded files to my list, I would really appreciate it!

Excellent, just got off work, about to get hard at it again. I did upload the filled version with minor edits to height of the tallest players left on rosters. Nothing close to complete, but its something for anyone waiting patiently. Its listed as "IHSAA In Progress". May leave that as is, and under the next save change the name more. FYI, I cannot change the coaches at this point. I tried last night, and then it wouldn't allow me to leave, siting empty coaching slots that must be filled, however, I looked closely after filling all of those empty slots, but it still wouldn't let me out. So I had to power off the CPU with the game playing to escape. I really do not want to do that too often. So for now, I am not messing with coaching staffs.

Your welcome. I did this with 2K 17 on PS4 about state tournament time...and I really had a lot more fun playing a game with a high school feel than I did playing with the NBA players. So it was the first thing I did when get the 2k 18 download for PS4. If I had discovered this site, and all the mods available on PC prior to release, well...I would have had to pay for the game twice and this would already be available for everyone interested on PC. To me, there is something more interesting having all sorts of different team arrangements from a team with very limited size and ability, all the way to a juggernaut with a real stud leading and a solid supporting cast, and everything in between. Hopefully, the finished product will be amendable to nearly all states for those not from Indiana. And somewhat easier for anyone who wants to take the time to consolidate the better players through a custom draft to play a league with rosters that would be more accurate to the large basketball academies, or even an AAU style league. I have gotten the first 3 teams completed, had some eye fatigue yesterday or would have gotten further. But I have tomorrow off work, so I am hopeful to get at least 10 to 20 more teams completed. I plan to share updates as I get more and more done, so hopefully by the end of the week, there will be enough to have a full league for everyone.

Progress report: I started off adjusting contracts, physical attributes, ratings and tendencies, but after about 6 teams, I came to the conclusion that doing tendencies with everything else was simply taking forever. So instead, I did a quick edit of all the tendencies (admittedly...probably not the smartest thing to do...but its too late now). But after streamlining that, and adjusting player ratings like using a chainsaw rather than a scalpel, I was able to get through all 30 current NBA teams. All of which, I will return to straighten up the ratings next, before trying to get through Classic teams with the same method. The tendencies, well they suck...but I think if you just are into the game play, and not all that interested in simulation accuracy, I think it should play pretty decent. I am probably going to keep at it after work tomorrow and through the weekend before playing any games on it. So if anyone gets to try it out, and the tendencies make the computer play simply intolerable let me know, and I will fix it first.

Also keep in mind that this is intended to be a normal High School roster. So perhaps your best interior player, rebounder, or whatever could be your point guard. Or any variation imaginable. At this point, I know to that there is likely to be a lot of adjustments still to come with each roster and player...but its more important for me to get a rough draft out, and fine tune it as I go.

I went to run a test by setting up a MyLeague with the "High School In Progress" roster (latest updated). However, when I went to the first game, the game kicked me off back to my desktop. I tried it a second time without downloading team designs and tried to play a game with NBA uniforms and court designs to the same result. Can anyone see if they can duplicate these results? If this roster has some corruption issue that is going to make the whole process a waste of time, I would like to know before continuing along. Thanks for any help!

The unlocked teams roster is really only for play now. I should be able to get your roster to work by changing the unlocked teams into all time teams or classic teams. I will just hide the unused teams also.

So your roster works in play now and playoffs.

I couldn't get it to stop crashing in myleague. I will just transfer players to a roster that that works with myleague and change some ages.

Hope you have found some success. On my end, I am trying to salvage some of this down time. I have been creating some of the current top High School players in Indiana in order to give it some more realism. I have a list of about 30 players to start with, finished about 8 completely. But I think I can get decent rosters from MaxPreps.com, so I will probably incorporate some additional players from time to time when I have time. Just let me know when you think it is will be ok to begin working on the roster some more.
