JaoSming & WiiFit - Beginning of Round 2

Postby JaoSming on Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:33 am

I was able to snag a copy of WiiFit down at Best Buy today so I am going to put it to the video game workout test and show you guys what this does for my fat, out-of-shape, flabby ass. sexay

Remember, I am 6'6" tall and will not be changing my diet for at least the start of this.

Day 1
BMI: Obese (this wont change)
Weight: 293 lbs

Goal, loose 22 pounds in 2 months. w00t

My plan is to do this thing everyday before work, I should have plenty of time to do it so lets see if this thing will actually help me at all.

Um, thank you for the optimism? This should be a good way to see how this thing works though, even if it fails, it is kind of fun.

I finished all yoga (i feel, fruity) and strength exercises. Man, I am out of shape....I can barely get past my knees when trying to touch my toes, have horrible balance on each leg (remember, past knee injuries) and I was pretty much shaking due to my muscles being so out of tone. I am "strong" still, I moved 3 big pieces of oak furniture up 2 stories of stairs by myself yesterday but my overall flexibility and individual muscle strength sucks.

I do think I will be able to continue on with this for a while, especially if I get into my habit. I usually get up 2 hours before work so I can watch sportscenter, do a round (of websites, I swear) and have a good breakfast each morning along with my shower. Now that baseball has completely taken over SC I need something else to do in the morning and this should fit in nicely. The other thing that will keep me doing this is that it will track my progress.

So yea, day 1 down, and plenty more to go, Ill be sure to post in the morning before work what I weighed in at. And just remember, this is how I looked at 300+ pounds (and mid-yawn + sun in the eyes)

:shake: , oh and the car was our rental one on my trip to Hawaii.

Well I literally lol'd in bed at the thought of getting up and doing pushups...that aint happening this morning. While I am not sore from yesterday, I just dont want to be doing strength training in the AM yet, so I will get to that later today, however I will be attempting some tired yoga this morning.

    Stats:
    Yesterday's BMI: 33.87
    Today's BMI: 33.59
Today's Weight: Just over 290 lbs
Total loss from last night: -2.4 lbs.

Those results are to be taken with a grain of salt considering I didnt weigh myself at the same time as yesterday and I has one wicked huge BM yesterday that could have killed a small child. So unless someone has some witty remarks I will post up a new update tomorrow.

Edit: My biggest enemy while doing this is going to be our ceiling fan.....ow.

I was lucky to find out though that the living room ceiling is a little higher, so when Im supposed to be stretching full out above my head, if i make a fist instead of keeping my hands flat I wont touch the ceiling.

dannngg 293? wiifit? more like wiifat!

at 5'7" 130 I think wii fit would call me underweight. but then again, coming from Japan, it might just call me "normal"

Q your BMI is ~ 20 http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/. Wiifat says that the ideal BMI is 22 so you are "normal" lol.

BTW, my Wii Age (based on my ability to control my body weight on balance tests) yesterday was 26 and this morning was 33. Ill be sure to keep updating that stat as well.

I seriously doubt that I will get beneath the BMI class "overweight" (over 25) for the duration of my owning this game and playing the wii. I am too big and I gain muscle too easily (muscle weight > fat weight) but I do want to get below that obese line which I think is at a BMI of 30. That means my overall target weight is 260 pounds.

You're by no means obese....and dieting is 70% of effectively loosing weight. Working out is good for building muscle/tone, metabolism and heart rate. You'd be suprised that an hour of jogging only burns about 200 calories...and a ham sandwitch might have 500.

I could really give two Joan Rivers' if I am back to 220 lbs or 350 lbs. I just want my mobility back and to replace some of my fat with muscle.

For that i'd go with light weights and high reps along with a good diet. Wit fitt could help i guess. (y)

You look like Jao Yun Fat now. You could also give yourself a new basketball nickname, like "Love Handles".

Good luck, though.

Give the guy some credit, pretty damn original, Matthew on the other hand :shake:

This morning, no yoga, no time, just the weight/balance tests then its off to work.

BMI: 33.41
Weight: Just under 289 (they have a scale with a slider)
Weight Difference from Yesterday: -1.5 pounds
WiiFit Balance age: 26

I am surprised to say the least, especially after all this shit I ate yesterday. 2 muffins, a poptart, 2 sandwich wraps + chips, nachos, bacon chesseburger, fried french fries, jalopeno poppers, cookies and bowl of ice cream. I am not planning on changing my diet through the first part of this at the very least, I dont eat like that everyday but Im not going to purposely eat a salad when I want a burger.

Goddam, your diet aint healthy though. You should change it anyways not only to loose weight. Just to decrease the risk of dying of a heart attack ...

That youre loosin weight right now is just luck Id say since training without changing your diet wont help to loose weight. By working out you train your muscles which would mean that some fat is burned and turns into muscles. Since muscles are heavier than fat your weigth should even increase.

I think I might have gained weight from just reading that list.

I mean I totally agree with Hova in that what you're eating is just plain unhealthy and is more than offsetting any exercise that you are doing with the WiiFit.

I think I've neglected to mention the point of this thread. If i really cared about loosing straight up weight and getting rid of the fat I would do something about it. There is a gym in town and I have plenty of healthy activities at my fingertips if I want them. I do not think, nor am I depending on WiiFit to actually make me loose weight, the game says that it isn't even going to help, it is only supposed to be a supplementary exercise and track your weight.

I have always ate "bad", always, I have had blood work done in the past 3 months and I am well within healthy tolerances for all of my blood levels. I know I should eat better and I do plan to start, but I want to see what can this game do by itself. Why is that so wrong? I am sure plenty of people are curious if the act of standing up and twirling your hips like and idiot actually makes you loose any weight by itself.

and Matty boy, I'm not angry with you, I am just disappointed with you, I give you pictures where I am at my worst point and all you come up with is "lol" and "fat fuck"? Jesus, unless you have something to actually contribute or something mildly funny dont even bother posting it.

I should note that I ate like that when I was younger and a twig (very underweight) I stayed at 220 pounds which was my basketball weight at VTC. At UMass a combination of stress and literally no exercise inflated me up well past the 300 mark. Since then I still have not changed my diet at all and have lost at least 20 30 pounds without any exercise. Oh, and I love all of the fat jokes, remember I am 6'6", no one can even tell I'm packin' extra pounds unless I take my shirt off.
Opinions are my own.

I didn't laugh at your picture, some people can't help how they look (and I'm not being a smart arse here..)

But dude, even at 6'6, 293 is way overweight. Especially at your age.
