[Maumau78's & CarolusXCI] Roster Editing 29.11 Huge Find...

I will keep all my roster editing discover here....for now I will use Cheat Engine to inject & change Roster...but lately I probably / maybe write a roster editor to accelerate Roster Editing Process..

My focus will first be on those goals:

- Quick Edit Jersey colors & socks color for every jersey not just home / away
- Quick Edit Teams Names
- Quick Edit / Enable Hidden Teams like NCAA or Other teams
- Edit Roster to allow more than 10 Players to allow modders to create great retro roster....

I will post updates as soon I have time here in this thread

REALLY IMPORTANT: I'm not a roster modder so I have zero plan to release roster...otherwise I'm glad to help roster makers :twisted:

[Quick Uniform Editing]

Using cheat Engine attach to NBA 2k17.exe process...

Load you favourite roster (you don't need to do MyLeage pass as Peace's Tutorial here.....just load the roster you want to edit (Y) )

Open memory view then search for u015lal_current_home [Lakers Home Jersey]...now imagine jersey like....every jersey has it's own block and they are one next to another....

So what I did was just copy/past Lakers home & away hex values into a hex comparison software...this will help me "map" every single byte to uniform colors like socks color, jersey home/away, accessories color....this can be done for every jersey now just home & away

So those RGB values will be always on the same position in jersey block...here in 5 second I did change Lakers home socks to black...

those parameters will control home or away uniform:

DE7356F4 = AWAY
1AE3E8B7 = HOME

You can't compare it to an NCAA team because they're both different. I've tried, the Han Roster has found out how to do it. All you need to do is compare the locked teams to his roster, then just write up a tutorial on what to change to unlock them. In fact, I'll try it right now.

I've tried doing it and it's a fucking pain. Everything keeps changing, I get the differences and then I check again and there is even more differences again. I think I'll leave this with you maumau.

The big thing with this is: Can we get them to 13 players. If players can be added to those teams for use in myLeague. That would give us many more slots to work with. Same with Euro Teams, if those teams that don't have 13 guys can be brought up to 13, we can use all of them.

If not, when those teams are brought into MyLeague, the game automatically assigns random players to the teams in order to get them to 13.

Maumau great thread. I am on a road trip but I have my modding notes with me. I will check to see if I wrote down the team IDs for non-NBA teams. I remember writing them down. That should help

Now "IF" i get more free time would be great to write a simple editor that allow you to select uniform and edit colors....for me is really funny to change for example socks color and so on...

Here, I just changed Mavs away primary shoe color from black to white (socks as well), here how it looks. The second color (dark blue) remains unchanged.

The problem is finding the player. It seems like there are like 3 different versions of the 2016-17 Dirk, for example.

Hehehe look at this:

Change that to:

And so on.. 40, 50, 60... A0, B0, C0, all the way until F0 , you can insert those. From 30 on, only the combinations are changed (shoulder tape X is placed on one arm, shoulder tape Y is placed on the other). Haven't figured out the color yet but it should be somewhere nearby.

Yea, the idea is to find a byte (or an array thereof) responsible for telling the game if a given team is an NBA team or an Euro one. It's how it worked in 2k14 so I am assuming it's the same here. So right now I am comparing basically teams within the same division with teams within the same conference, then with teams from the other conference, then with Euro teams. I am checking the patterns, which bytes repeat and which don't, and then I try to change and see what happens. It's a big pain in the arse but being able to have more teams is very rewarding for retro rosters so why not.

So yes, basically it's a trial and error process, at least for a person like me who doesn't know much about such things.

Well I appreciate all the hard work. I plan on releasing two versions of that roster, one with all euro team slots filled with new classic teams, and current teams intact (So that would be 16 NEW classic teams, default classic teams filled and accurate, and the current teams intact). And a second version with all the euro teams filled with new classic teams, plus all the current teams filled with new classic teams, and all the default classic teams accurate and filled, this would give us around 46 NEW classic teams.

Giving the option to have current teams left alone will appeal to the user who wants to still have those teams to use against new classic teams.

Its a win win.

If that is true we can also have a true NCAA mod (Y) or EURO Mod too...great year so far....game is out from just less than one month...

Yea, I just changed the parameter for the Grizzlies, to make them an Euro team:

Besides the Euro refs, the 5-seconds closely guarded is an euro rule. So it works I guess..

I guess so. In 2k14 it was the same, wasn't it? You just changed TeamType from 0 to 24 (iirc) using the RedMC and everything changed from NBA to Euro (ball, refs and so forth).

In this years game not only ball, ref uniforms and rules are changed when you tweak that byte, but also presentation (David Aldridge appears on the sideline talking befor the tip-off, there's a pre-game show with the TNT crew, etc).

I just closed the stuff I had open here, but classic teams had "04" on that highlighted byte instead of "00" for regular teams and "30" for Euroleague teams. So if you change the "00" from a regular team to "04", there will be no EJ, Shaq and Kenny prior to the game. If you change a classic team from "04" to "00", there will be the pre-game show. I don't know what else changes in this case.
