Is there any way to extract cyberface for Jerry Stackhouse? I've opened the 0K, where classic/euro player CF's are, but he's not there(png0008.iff)...

I did try to import .RESA and they play beautifully in the Tool (Y)

I did create my sample using Audacity 48000Hz and export them as OGG -> then rename to .RESA

I will test ingame really soon but it should work charmeless (Y)

Check the manifest file to make sure that is where the face should be

Thanks guys, found him there.
I want to link his CF to his player card in My Team mode via external file plugin , cause he has some awful CF that looks terrible.
Now i extracted png0008.iff, renamed it to a number his MT player model is linked with(png8533.iff), but now his face is darker than a rest of the body.
Any clues why is that and how can i fix it?

Edit: Silly me, i forgot to include face0008.iff as well.Now he finally looks properly.Thanks again for a help!

Version 0.52 is up. This should fix the 2K archive issue. This is 99% the final version of the tool ;)

Importing jukebox music if a size difference is a nightmare this year. I can do it, but it takes like 5-10 minutes for every song to be put in.

Hey Greg, something weird is going on, I've been forced to verify game archives and since then the tool doesn't work. Doesn't load any file in any sector.

BTW, I've tried deleting-downloadind the tool 2 times and still the same issue...

There is probably no problem with the tool, if you verified the game cache, make sure you also deleted the manifest_g file from the game directory

Thanks, it's OK ! I just deleted the file "manifest_g" from the game directory and my 2K explorer works !

Hey Greg, This is the second time it happens to me: after installing 3-4 shoe files using the import method, when I try to start the game, it kicks me out; and when I press verify cache it always downloads 2 files...

Those two files are 0A and whatever archive you're modding. There's nothing weird about that. As for the corrupting, the importing is always gonna sort of be shitty because of how big the archives are.

Thanks for the answer TBM. The thing is the 4-5 files I inserted before crushing were 1KB shoe config files, the original files were 1KB too, so the difference among them may be of around a bunch of bytes at best.

For what you are saying I guess that, if crushes happen with 1KB files, importing dornas will be impossible too right?

I've inserted a few dornas with no issue. The problem isn't necessarily the size of the file you're importing, but rather the size of the archive itself. 0C is 6gb, so the re-writing is rough.

So basically there's nothing that can be done right? Is it the same if the modded file is smaller or bigger than the original one? or it just doesn't matter at all?

i'm using the direct import method, don't know if can be done but, would help to keep the structure of the file if I better use the .iff editor?

Don't know really how many dornas you have imported, this issue happened to me after 7-8 imports...The thing is if Greg can do anything about this issue...

EDIT: I've already tried, but iff editor doesn't recognize shoe_ed, Shoe_ng or Shoe_style files :(

That's because you're not using the iff editor like you're supposed to.

Firstly, don't use this for importing faces. Use the external file plugin. Secondly, look at the manifest in a text editor for file locations.

I'll talk to Greg about it. if you can find out if the problem can be easily re-created, that would help. Like, if it's always exactly 7 imports that corrupt the archive or something.

Thanks TBM, I'll try to reproduce it. It happens about the 7th-8th import more or less. The curious thing is that it doesn't happen always right after inserting the file, indeed I can access the game and see the mod; but if I leave Steam and later on go in and try to start the game is when the crush happens.

BTW, if you can talk to greg, please tell him to check his PMs.

Well that's very informative.


Extract the IFF with NBA 2K17 Explorer and then unzip the IFF with 7-Zip to get the textures. Use 7-Zip to put the new textures back in the IFF. Use the NBA 2K17 External File Plugin to apply the modified IFF to the game.

Greg, do you think it would be possible to rename files that are inside of the archive w/ this tool?
I just want to change "face0xxx.iff" to "face3xxx.iff".

I tried to doing this with hex editing but there is no "face0xxx" in the hex code.

I love the expansion teams idea, but the uniforms are too basic... so i want to try to make them more appealling.

You can just rebrand using the in game jersey creator. You can find where any file is by opening up the manifest file in notepad
