In regards to my brother (BigTicket0521), using GIMP and Paint.net, he has done AMAZING work on portraits, you guys are going to get a roster with great portraits for the likes of players like Happy Hairston, Alaa Abdelnaby, Pat Riley, etc etc. End of the bench guys as well as starters (yes, some new ones for starters as well), he is very OCD about the details (Making them look right), meaning no missing legs, no getty images, no white borders or patches, just really high quality. I think the portraits are a BIG presentation attraction, so these are huge.
In regards to myself, I've made and changed out all the appropriate logos for the new classic teams, and did a ton of accurate face combinations for players missing in the game (Like Sedale Threatt, Sam Mack, Greg Kite, etc), the players look great on the floor, and they play the correct way. All vitals/attributes/tendencies/signatures etc have been touched on. Even for guys at the end of the bench (If I don't have a video of a player, I will find a picture of them shooting and emulate that). That means when say, Othella Harrington comes in for the 96-97 Rockets, not only will he look like Harrington, but he will shoot and play like Harrington. I have also went through and completed the accessories (outside of the shoes, which PeacemanNot was doing) for the new teams, and he is touching up those as well. I converted many courts from UBR (Retroman and RICH work, so good), and they came out great, I also had to piece together many non 1 texture courts (Like 96-97 Rockets), which took hours to make accurate, and they also came out great. You are going to see 20+ converted courts that are accurate and look great. I also put in current stadium lighting into many of the default classic teams, to give the arena life.
TBM also made a great UCTR loading screen that will be in the mod pack, and a bald Jason Williams for the 00-01 Kings, and other quick edits to players that make a big difference.
I am very proud of the work on this roster, considering we do not have an appropriate roster editor. We are doing everything we can to give you folks the appropriate retro experience.
The best thing about this roster will be its use in MyLeague, you folks will have a blast putting the best teams ever against eachother in MyLeague, even if you just want to do CPU vs CPU viewing. For now, about 14-15 current teams will be overwritten by new classic teams, and the default classic teams will be 100% filled ready for use, with no created players/no fakes. But, I am considering adding more teams after V1.
We havn't had a good retro experience for MyLeague (With accurate classic teams) since the UBR/URB, so I am hoping this catches on.
