Are you guys gonna release the mod so that we can play with medium settings too? Some courts crash in mods like Shuajota´s or Dee Classic ones..

You can play this mod with whatever courts you choose on any settings you like. Other than the portraits and cyberfaces every aspect is 100% edited in-game to give the most realistic NBA experience available.

I can say that it won't be, unfortunately. You will have to use my mods separately (Swap out the modded folder).

Awesome! I just installed Shuajota and some courts crashed (I think the ones using Lagoas templates). Nice to hear everybody will be able to enjoy it!

Is there anything special you need to do to have the rotations work that well? For example, if we do an association with this roster would it be difficult to keep the rotations accurate?

Yup. It's all thanks to Schnaidt1's rotation method. He has some very specific rules to make the most authentic rotations happen on court (you won't see 5 guys subbed in at a time, you'll usually see 1 to 3 guys like in real life). We will be sharing that once we release the roster. All 30 rotations for every NBA team were made using that method, but if you want to play MyLeague, you'll probably have to redo your rotations after a trade.
Unluckily, the CPU will reset their rotations anytime a minor thing happens to their roster. You can't control that with one big, omnipresent move. The only way to manage those is to actually control every team and keep those rotations accurate for the whole league by yourself. You don't have to do it for the simmed games, I don't think Schnaidt1's method has any effect in that area. His method was made for actual gameplay. So before every game, if you want to play that specific matchup instead of simming it, you'll have to check both your rotation and the CPU's to see if the rules were broken. That is a little bit of work, but 100% worth it for those who have patience and keep their league realistic.

Awesome, thanks. I usually control all 30 teams so it shouldn't be a problem.

Our roster will have full body portraits of all major trades (Paul, Butler, George, etc.). Updated rookie cyberface for Josh Jackson (tattoos). And 100% accurate rookies (tendencies, attrubutes, signatures). We want the roster to feel like it's a natural part of your 2k experience and an extension of our 2016/17 roster. It's not just shiny new pictures and reassigning traded players, it's a legitimate basketball simulation.

HI hope you guys can make the rookies / other new players without the default nicknames available for created players, because the announcers / commentators keep on calling them by their nicknames assign to them. I believe it's better that we hear their surnames instead while playing.

Thanks so much for this, looking forward for the initial release.

Unfortunately if a player is not in the audio database for 2k, they tend to get called by the closest nickname. However, the way we do rookies, this means it will only happen to a few players. Players like Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, etc. will not have this issue.

To answer your question from another thread about a roster in Start Today:

1. Download Limino's Modifer: http://www.mediafire.com/file/0ebabtb0e ... 1+-+16.rar

2. Run the modifier

3. Start up 2k17

4. Press the F1 key

5. Make sure you have downloaded the roster you want to use

6. Load the roster you want and while still in the roster press the F3 key

7. Start your "Start Today" franchise

* Just a word of caution, if you plan on using Shuajota's roster just be warned the rookies need some work. Their ratings are too high and will jack up a potential franchise mode play through down the road. Also all their colleges are incorrect so I would advise you edit at least the ratings if you want an authentic franchise mode.

Thank you for writing it all out for me, it makes a lot more sense now! thank you. Thanks for the heads up as well, lol... I tried it... it can be great...but not there at the moment... mainly the anticipation for this release has got me looking at other options to cure my excitement haha...
Willing to help complete rosters for season/my league use.

Just trying to be sure there is still interest in this project. Unfortunately it seems that anything that's just shiny gets the forums attention. Hoping there is a group of individuals that value accuracy and effort over quick results. Regardless, we are making the last push to get this out to all of you

Trust me when I say there are a ton of people interested in this project, including me. Lol I think it's just the fact that y'all decided to do the 2016-2017 roster first is what sent some people off for the time being. However, as a fellow roster editor, I completely understand why y'all decided to do the earlier roster first. It's a whole lot easier to update a roster as opposed to working backward. Regardless, I'm still very interested in the project.

Thank you all for what you're doing! This roster should be amazing and definitely worth the wait!

There will be also cyber faces from other players or only for the new players from the draft? There will be updates for jersey? Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for the support and I couldn't agree more. Going from 2016-17 to 2017-18 may have initially chased some people off but this way everyone is satisfied. Additionally, once we get 2016-17 the transition to 2018 is easier as we have many of the files ready and rookies created for my draft class are completed with tendencies, attributes, and accessories that blend seamlessly with the roster. We are hoping to have a 2017-2018 roster out no later than a week after the release of the 2016-17 roster.

Yes, while there will be rookie cyberfaces, there will be several new cyberfaces exclusive to the roster that you will not find on this forum (whether in the forums or the downloads section). This includes free agents, NBA players, and tattoo updates. That being said we will not be adding files for players like Curry, Lebron, Harden, etc. to ensure that the files you use now for your favorite players will continue to be used in the new roster. The only cyberface files added are ones to flesh out the players that 2k does not include in the vanilla roster.
