Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

How many fouls should be allowed in a game with 5 minute quarters?

Should foul out rules be changed as default?

Postby [Q] on Sat May 06, 2017 11:02 am

This has been something that I've thought about since NBA Live 98 playing shorter 3 minute quarters. The whole strategy of foul trouble and the decision to bench a player or gamble and keep him in is non-existent.

I know some people are crazy or a lot of time and play 12 minute quarters, but 5 is the default and the norm online. Players shouldn't get 12 minutes worth of fouls. Should players foul out at 3 in shorter games?

A lot of people mash square knowing that the chance of getting a steal outweighs the low chance of picking up 6 fouls

I'd say no, at least for online play. There's still too many ticky-tack fouls and canned fouls on steal attempts, without even mashing the button. Games of 2K Pro-Am would be over before halftime, with entire teams fouling out in record time.
