PC or Xbox One

I'm just a bit iffy here

I'm choosing between XO and PC on a budget

PC will be hard as I will scavenge for cheap parts. but if I can do it I can be rewarded with mods, which I love

XBOX One's are going for as little as sub $180USD, and there are people online.

Any side to lean on?

The three main things to consider here:

- Modding
- Playing online
- Your budget for building a PC, how that rig is going to stack up against the recommended specs, and how important high detail settings are to you

If you want to use and/or create mods, then Xbox One is out completely, because that's PC only. If playing online is important, then the consoles have a much larger userbase, so you'll probably have an easier time finding a game there at pretty much any time of the day; that said, there are people playing online on PC as well. If it's going to be too much hassle to build a decent gaming rig and you'd rather not sacrifice detail settings, then an Xbox One alleviates that problem.

It really depends on what you want to do with the game, what your budget is, and what's most important to you. Also consider any other games you might want to get for either system.

Yeah, Andrew is right. If all you plan on playing is NBA 2K, I'd go with Xbox. If you're interested in a lot of different games and modding intrigues you, then PC is worth the investment. To meet the recommended requirements for 2K17 it will probably run you around $500-600 for the computer parts.. unless you can find good deals on eBay. Good luck.

Also, from what I've gathered, AMD cards are running 2K17 much better than NVIDIA right now. I have a 980 Ti paired with a 4770k and it's sluggish. I may install it on my girlfriend's computer and see how it runs. She has an i5 and an R9 290.

Yes, I mentioned that in another post. My two AMD GPUS are running this game flawlessy.
