All-Time Teams Roster

Hey guys, just thought I'd toss this out there for anyone interested. I just finished an all-time roster with a ton of throwback players. Mostly made with 2k official ratings and tendencies from 2khead or 2kmtcentral. Most players have cyberfaces with the exception of Reggie Miller, Rasheed Wallace, Steve Nash, etc... I did my best to create them in the game.

Barkley, Roy, Arenas, Miller, Baron Davis, Wizards Jordan, Steve Smith, Glen Rice, Dale Ellis, Peja, Webber, Bibby, Rick Barry, Kevin Johnson, Francis, Magic T-Mac, and Jalen Rose all included plus more. Anyone I haven't added yet will probably be added eventually. Very deep league that's great for implementing the 6 available expansion teams without too much loss in team quality.

Anyway, for those of you who are interested in all time rosters, I hope you enjoy it. If you have any feedback I'd love to hear it.

I didn't change anyone that's already in the game except for giving Julius Erving on the 76ers the cyberface with the smaller afro lol. I will check that out, though.

I found the dream team cyberface for bird. Had to do some digging. While I was digging for new faces, I stumbled upon another one. Looks kind of like Chris Webber to me, but it'd be nice to get a second opinion on that.

Kind of? That's Chris Webber alright... fuck me. Nice find. Maybe you can find Reggie? But yeah you should definitely use the Dream Team Cyberfaces for the guys on there and compare cyberfaces of the older players who are in the roster several times. They updated some and some they left their old gen version and some got completely updates. Russel finally looks like Russel and Jerry West doesn't look like he has hair glued to his head anymore, Bird's 80 version still looks like Rod Steward and Schrempf still looks like his hair grows out of his skull plate.

Awesome! I was hoping I was right. I'm wondering now if he was in 2k16 this whole time. The cyberface list I was using ended at 8538 and Webber was only 2 spots away at 8540. Either way, I'm stoked now that I have the whole early 00's kings starters. I'll keep looking and see if I can find more dream team players. Bird was at 8558, but I searched from there to 8600 and there weren't anymore cyberfaces. I know they're in there somewhere, just gotta keep searching.

No problem. You can really go in depth and put players like David Thompson in there, ETC. You should really be able to fill the ends up your benches.

Alright, I made a huge update. No more players below 80 ovr, all the cyberfaces are in check, and I added a decent amount of new players. Should be good to go.

A question out of curiosity: is there only one instance of a particular player? That is: did you decide which team a player belongs to, or do you have multiple versions of a player for different teams? (E.g. is Garnett a Timberwolf, a Celtic, or both?)

There's more than one version of a lot of players. T-Mac for instance is on the Raptors, Magic, and Rockets.. Garnett is only on the Timberwolves because the Celtics already have a ton of good players. He could be easily moved over from the 08 celtics, though. There's both Nets and Raptors Vince Carter, Heat and Hawks Steve Smith, Bulls and Wizards Jordan, etc...

I've been thinking of doing a separate version of this roster with only one version of each player. If that's something you're interested in, let me know and I'll accommodate.


Quick edit: Decided to move the '08 Celtics Garnett over the Celtics since you mentioned it.

I agree with Tampy. It would be great to have no duplicates. Might be pretty easy for you to swap players in and out.

It's an interesting question. On one hand, I would hate for someone to not be available on a team and thereby not have the truly best All-Time rosters for a franchise. I'm talking specifically when a player had great stints at more than one franchise. So, like...Shaq in Orlando and the Lakers, or Wilt with the Warriors and the Laker, or Kareem with Bucks/Lakers, Sprewell with Warriors/Knicks, Kidd with like three clubs, and many more.

At the same time, Tampy brings up a good point that it would be kind of silly-looking to have, for example, Two Kareems, two Shaqs, and two Wilts taking up 6 out of the Top 10 spots in certain rankings.

Or it might be even cooler. Can't decide.

The purpose of all-time teams is to have all of the best players for that team, so duplicates are unavoidable because of what you pointed out about players having good stints with more than one team. Initially, I made this roster with fantasy drafts as an afterthought. It really works best when used in a single season without a fantasy draft. Kind of a pick your favorite team and go kinda thing.

Dee4Three has made a roster with all the legends in free agency and without duplicates for the people who want to do fantasy drafts. His thread is here: viewtopic.php?f=225&t=102269

Thanks for the shout-out. Im surprised your roster hasn't been moved to the releases and previews section.

I think the combination of our two rosters gives the community a couple really good retro rosters.

No problem. Gotta spread the word about these retro rosters and make sure people know they have options. Hopefully, we'll be close to getting another UBR in the future if more of these kinds of rosters start getting made. It looks like modding is really going to take off this year. I did send Andrew a message about getting this thread moved, but I never got a reply. I just figured that he's busy or something. But despite it not really being in the right section, it's gotten 536 downloads over the past week or so, so even if people don't see it here, they'll probably see it on the in-game list now.

Now that we have all or most of the hidden players in the game, making other rosters will be a lot easier. Your roster is a great base for making other legends rosters. I'm thinking of doing an all-time 90's or 00's roster next.
