Check it out here.

Highlights include:

  • "Moments" cards will come through much quicker, and we'll be able to re-live moments in MyTEAM.
  • Legends cards are now based on specific moments or eras, rather than a particular season.
  • There are new gem levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby, Amethyst, Diamond, and Pink Diamond), and overall ratings have been tweaked.
  • Dynamic Duos provide a performance boost, and are not just based on current teammates.
  • Free Agent trial cards provide an opportunity to play with the best players for a few games. We'll get to pick one upon starting MyTEAM, out of a choice of five players: Russell Westbrook, Kristaps Porzingis, Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard, and LeBron James.
  • Quick Challenges have been added, for anyone who doesn't have time for a full game.
  • Completing collections results in player cards, not team balls or anything else superficial.
  • Gauntlet is now MyTEAM Blacktop. No more Bronze or Silver players on the wheel this year, and the pick board has been re-worked.
  • Road to the Playoffs has been re-named MyTEAM Online. It includes nine leagues corresponding to the gem levels.
  • Stat tracking has been added.
  • New rewards with The Diamond Board.
  • MT rewards for defensive plays, as well as offensive plays.
  • There's a new lineup management screen, making it easier to adjust your lineup.
  • Certain players will have Hall of Fame badges.

Pretty solid. I have developed an interest in the card collecting modes in NBA Live and NBA 2K in recent years, but I've actually preferred Ultimate Team's approach to MyTEAM. It sounds like some solid changes and improvements have been made this year, so I think I might spend a bit more time in MyTEAM, in between MyLEAGUE and 2K Pro-Am. I'll give it a try, at least.

I'm a bit disappointed not to read anything about improvements to pack odds, however. Compared to LUT, MyTEAM's rewards have felt a lot stingier, and the odds of the supposedly good packs are still pretty bad. The pack opening trailer that also came out today showed gamers pulling some great cards with ease...yeah, I'll believe that when I see it. As I said in the other thread, I don't want to call it false advertising or anything, but that felt a little deceptive.

Also:

Building a team from current and historic players is totally unique to MyTEAM.

...except that it can also be done in LUT. But hey, why acknowledge the other game, unless it's to make a petty little potshot at a glitch from six years ago?

Anyway, sounds good, but I am a bit leery about those pack odds, especially since nothing was mentioned. If the challenges are a good way of building your lineup though, then fair enough.
