Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

Disappointed in the results tbh. It sounds like 2K16 audio with an equalizer applied to it depending on the arena, rather than individually recorded crowds and announcing like Live 15 had.
Compare the two. It's night and day.

Dissapointed too. Announcer is the same for all arenas, no suprise here. So called Team-specific details were in the game in 2k16 if I am not mistaken. Atlanta when scoring for 3, Knicks sound after basket,.. Also I noticed at 1:33 the crowd is not really cooperating with whats going on on the court..
And offcourse same net sound and it doesnt matter if its a 3 pointer or a layup. Not hyped at all.

Yeah, I don't have too much of a problem with it being the same announcer, but when you close your eyes and listen to the trailer, you would know instantly it was NBA 2K. With that Live video, you could easily be confused into thinking it was an actual NBA game.

Seems they travelled so many miles but the results are disappointing

Live did a really good job with presentation. It's just the whole package that they need to work on. Let's hope we get something good on Live 17...

I have no words when comparing this 2K recycled crap to NBA Live 2010. Just miles better by a 7 years old game.

^ That's a stretch. 2K17 sounds better than that.

You can't say "2K recycled crap"
2K has had a good presentation for a while now, but EA over-exaggerated for the last few years meaning lower game sales

By recycling I mean that they are (cant find the exact word right now) selling/hyping the new literations of the game with the things they already added in the past. From the trailer from 1:08 forward for example. These PA sounds were in the game for atleast 2 years, should we be thrilled by this or what? Thats falce advertising. The red line of the whole trailer is how they travelled i dont know how many kilometres for adding new net/ball/shot clock sounds. I mean, I appreciate it but i doubt that they added each arenas sounds and crowd noises if they are selling authenticity. Or crowd reacting at the rights times and them to act differently when there is classic rivarly going on at the end of the week or just some regular game between two bad teams from different conferences. That would make the difference. At this moment every game feels the same and the playoff athmosfere is broken.

Well then, 2K probably did a good job in earlier versions, meaning that they always keep the good stuff, and also note that each arena is different.

It's nice to get the variation, and it does add to the atmosphere, but it's also something that loses its shine once issues with the gameplay and modes start presenting themselves. I think it's cool and all, but personally I find it difficult to get too hyped up by stuff like this. Obviously, the people who are recording the sounds aren't the same people who are working on the core elements I want to say improved, so it's not like choosing to do this has taken attention away from those things. However, when I see stuff like this, I can't help but wish I was instead hearing about fixes to the grading logic in MyCAREER/2K Pro-Am, tinkering that's been done to the under-the-hood AI in MyLEAGUE/MyGM, and resolutions to long-standing legacy issues.
In short, stuff like this contributes to the overall presentation and I certainly don't object to it, but it's quickly overshadowed by more crucial elements of the gaming experience.

IIRC the Live team went to each stadium like 2K but they actually recorded the arena sounds, which is what really differentiates each arena from the others. I can appreciate 2K's attention to detail, but they often put too much effort into the things that don't necessarily need it while other places are clearly lacking (ahem, jersey numbers). It's great to have authentic buzzer horns or audience screaming for each arena, but I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between Houston's buzzer and Sacramento's buzzer horn off the top of my head.
But Live's had authentic arena sounds since Live 10 as it was pointed out. I mean for the Lakers alone they had the authentic grandfather clock 3 point chime after each one while 2K16's sounds like a cheap knockoff and doesn't play on every 3. Live had "we want tacos" for the Lakers, the real "Everybody clap your hands", and Live 15 had improved on that as evidenced by the video.

As an audio engineer i was really excited for this, and then i saw the video with NBA Live's sound efforts. TBM is right, it's much better. Damn
Still though, i'll reserve judgement until i actually experience the game for myself

So your telling me that they added Arena structures, sounds and crowd authentic but cant make accurate courts??? For Christ Sakes the Clippers court is exactly the same from last year.

To be honest it's probably not gonna make a big difference to me if they still have that same PA guy in almost every arena. I'm surprised they even included him in the trailer, considering how played out that voice is.

Exactly, when you watch the real nba it's the PA announcer that stands out the most on made baskets and such that I think would really make each different arena stand out more from the next one but iam not going to knock it though till I play it next week.
And for what it's worth like the post above said regarding the Clippers court, the knicks "blue" in the key is way off from the much darker blue it actually is, if they want to pay attention to detail things like that would go a long way.

the echoing that they add in 2K is horrible, they need a better sound design guy
