Gameplay Trailer: Friction

Within a couple of hours of this post, according to Steve from OS.

NBA 2K17 trailer is scheduled to arrive in roughly 2 hours.

Trailer is out, so the first post has been updated.

Still not hyped.
I was expecting to find out some new features, something that would get me "OMG I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THISSS"... but it was mostly about physical game.

They got him with the mohawk. Face is the same, so still sucks. But I can understand it, he had a contract with LIve, they couldn't scan him, for sure.

Bosh was looking... weird. Very rectangular looking body frame. Maybe it was just a bad angle.

Anyway, it could mean the game will be more playable when you get physical. 2K16 got very physical on defense and at times it feels like too much, so maybe they focused on the offense?

I realised Butler doesn't have the spiky hair they showed in his screenshot. He has the same hair as here:

I like this. Light seems improved, sweat as well + I like that song, it's awesome! I think I saw Hotline Bling dance as celebration too. 8/10 for now.

#1 - Ben Simmons, not as good as mine but looks pretty good


#2 - Brandon Ingram, looks like he has the same body type as KD. KD is much more bulkier.


#3 - JJ Redick has a new haircut, don't know how accurate this is but it looks great:



#4 - Russell Westbrook, he no longer has this hair but it still looks better than last years:



#5 - Dirk Nowitzki, looks like a copy paste and it looks horrible:



#6 Patty Mills, he's got his new beard and mohawk. Looks great:



#7 - Dwight Howard, still has this hair from like 2K15. Not only is it innarcute from when he had long hair but now he has a low fade and it's short.



Jerseys:
#1 - Kings, a first look at the Kings Jerseys in game. Looks a bit too purple tbh



#2 - Knicks, the blue looks a bit dark, I think they had it perfect before but I don't know:





#3 - Lakers, looks a lot better than previous years. I'm really getting that NBA Live vibe when I look at this screenshot:



#4 - Heat, looks a lot more black. I like this change, it's more accurate.



#5 - Warmups, they look a lot baggier this year. I think this is more accurate:



Cons:

#1 - Side of Jersey isn't fixed at all:

#2 - Classic Jerseys still have Rev30 holes and the side isn't fixed:




All in all it's a good trailer. I was more nitpicky than being hyped for this... so I guess I'm still not really 'hyped'.

A thought about the colors: It might be inaccurate because of video post-processing and compression. They also look different based on your monitor tech (TN/VA/IPS) and your calibration.

As a Knick fan this is just like wtf, i believe its the same as last year which was absolutely terrible

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the reason why it's inaccurate is because NBA Live has the rights to MSG? So they have to change the colour of the court so they're not sued. Same goes for Celtics, the court wood is a couple shades wrong.

Do they have exclusive license? Because The Division by Ubisoft had MSG in it with it's name and everything.

Nope. EA has exclusives on MSG, but not the Knicks floor. The floor itself is all part of NBA licensing. MSG has nothing to do with it except for the MSG/Chase logo.

Red at Knicks uniform? That's weird. But I loved the purple of Kings uniform.

Well the way TBM is talking, it sounds as if Greg will be returning. I just think it's a bit weird that they don't address any of these issues. Like the small little details, mamuau litterally discovered how to change the colours of a court in a matter of minutes.

Why don't these fix these things! Seriously they should just hire all of us to do the art part of the game for them

Yes one year is not enough, they need more...years.

The trailer looks cool and all, as they all usually do. Some of the best looking moves are spotlighted, and the cinematic angles make things look exciting. Unfortunately, trailers like this are never going to answer all of our questions about gameplay, but as always, it is nice to see the game in motion. I enjoyed watching it, but I obviously still have questions and concerns about legacy gameplay and game mode issues. Hopefully, those answers come soon, and hold true when I've got my hands on the game.

As much as it was cool to watch I'd much rather see some hands on raw gameplay footage which usually comes out about now, that's when I really get hyped about a game.

Must admit iam a little disappointed that they haven't updated the knicks court from last year, the blue in the key is too light. It's not a "pre order cancelled" moment though (mainly because I haven't pre ordered) but it would be nice to see it fixed.
