Choosing a platform.

So I have a horrible PC and have some money hanging around. I could build a PC that runs it at 720p or so at very good frames (60+) at v-sync for like USD$200ish and pre-order of g2a or some cd-key site for like $30 with no DLC. Or I can get an Xbox One Slim when it drops or get the "fatter Xbox One" with considerations of USD$50 to $100 and get the standard edition. Which side should I take?

I'd recommend getting a gaming rig that is going to last you a few years (or at least has ample potential to be upgraded), but if you don't need to max out the settings, then PC is the only way you're going to get to play with any mods. The advantage of a console of course is standard hardware which will always meet the required specs, and a bigger online userbase.

also consider if you have friends you want to play with on any platform.

If you want a gaming PC, I'd too recommend not going too cheap - you'll be facing the same dilemma soon if you won't get reasonably good one.
