Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

The CPU comes down and repeatedly cranks up 3's on the break, without any inclination to drive to the hoop. You still can't defend shooters coming off screens, no matter how hard
you try to defend them, they'll make the shot 99.9% of the time. The help defense is broken, too many forays to the hoop by the CPU, with no weak side help . Especially the CPU throwing the ball up court, for a cherry pick basket after you've scored, with the defense no where in sight. This happens at least 2-4 times a game. The CPU always has the advantage when it comes to shot makes. Theirs are more likely to go in than yours. I can't count the number of times, I've had a shot or layup, pop out at the last minute, while the CPU's always seem to go in. These are just a few gripes I see, I'm sure there's more... Maybe a patch or sliders can correct some of them. I realize all games aren't perfect, but this game is damn close to being that, if they clean up some of these things.
Just something I've noticed.
When you play on default hall of fame, the sliders give the CPU a boost. They have higher ratings in everything, and yours are lower. This makes for a frustrating experience sometimes because you will miss a good shot with a good shooter, and they will bury a contested shot with a not as good shooter. I messed around with it, I started on HOF sliders but brought everything to 50 for both USER and CPU (With the exception of OFF REB, I made it 40 on both because the off rebounding is a little out of control in this game). I found that after this adjustment, it played more like a real game.
The breakdowns (CPU throwing up the court and getting easy baskets) has been around for so long. I wish they could find a way to fix this.

I must admit that my enjoyment level has gone right down after the recent patch, maybe it's just something easy that I can adjust via sliders but it felt like I was playing 2k16 really quick again with the cpu cheese on superstar/HOF level and like the post above said the rate on which the cpu takes/makes 3's is off the charts in some games.

Alright well I've played 30+hours of this game now and I've started to see a lot of annoying game play issues. Some of these are back from previous versions but there's a lot of new ones too.
-too many 3 pointers taken by the CPU especially on fast breaks
-collisions are worse than last year
-CPU players take fade away 3's on open shots
-CPU players often receive a pass out of bounds
-passing is way too slow/soft
-Moving screens that drag the defender into the paint
-Screens are generally set too far from the play
-CPU beats the user up the court after a made basket and scores
Out of curiosity I played 2k16 for a comparison and I honestly thing it plays better. So I think I'll go back to 2k16 and wait for a patch that fixes some of issues I mentioned above.

^^ Have to disagree on 2K16 playing better. 2K17 has the best gameplay yet. The cuts to the basket, the AI and the passing, even the rebounding has improved. Just the general feel, makes it play like the real NBA. I agree with you on everything else though.

My impressions on MyPark are not positive v 2K16. For one, they have done nothing to address the rampant cheating and hacking. For another they have taken away the arcade aspect of it. Specifically:
1) players move slower
2) having to choose a player type makes you excel only in one category.
3) way too many fouls - the games are about 30% longer this year due to the many many calls.
4) no moving picks called
5) defender on inbounder cannot move until the ball is passed one time. What stupid nonsense is that? So I cannot react to a backdoor cutter by pressing steal as the inbounder passes to his teammate under the rim?
6) turbo limit slows the game down. I loved whizzing all over the place last year on defense and I was good at it. Faking people out into thinking they had an open shot. Now, if I'm 5 ft away from the guy when he catches, I cannot challenge the shot.
Really disappointed. Fix what's broken, not what is perfectly fine. 2K16 was a lot more fun and fast paced

The players moving slower puzzles me. I don't play MyPark, but in Play Now/MyLeague modes the players move much faster and feel lighter this year. I'm wondering if this is an isolated mypark issue? (just with that mode)

The 2K Pro-Am experience feels noticeably different to offline modes too, so I'm inclined to think it's an online issue. Obviously that's still undesirable, but it would account for differing experiences.

Noticed after the patch, CPU throws full court passes and C's and Pf's are still beating their opposition down the court for easy baskets, after you score. it happens at least 4-5 times per game. It kills momentum for the team that's behind. It seems to have gotten worse post patch. Why are players slow to get back on defense repeatedly??? I shouldn't have to control them to guard with their man. This needs to be looked at. Would increasing game speed help? Andrew, if I posted this in the wrong section, feel free to move it to the patch notes discussion...

Increasing the game speed would probably result in more of theses dumb plays happening unfortunately.

I'm done with this game. I just can't do it. To me the teammate AI and their off-ball defense is absurdly frustrating. Combined with ridiculously stupid set plays on the other end I'm simply not enjoying it.
I've clocked 350+ hours on 2k15, about 290 on 2k16 but this year it's staying at 39. It's sad because the modding seems to be in outstanding shape already but I can't keep playing a game that leaves me in a worse mood after I'm done playing.

I feel ya... I'm tired of the CPU always making shots that I can't seem to make, the insane cherry-picking by the CPU, and the defense doesn't get back to stop full court passes, after the C's and PF's are slow as hell getting down the court. And the few times I have the lead in the 3rd or 4th qtr, the "Comeback Code" is in full effect for the CPU. I can't begin to tell you how many games I've lost when having the lead. I really like this game, but it's frustrating playing it, in it's current configuration, or maybe I'm just not that good ...

Commentary detracts from the game. I have it turned off, but the pre-game commentary still plays.
Canned Kenny, Ernie and Shaq talked about Nerlins Noel. Kenny said we knew Noel would be a force on D, but he's also providing offense.
#1, this canned commentary would be a push in the 16-17 season, Noel's 3rd season in the league. But this was uttered during the 19-20 season, Noel's 6th season. Whatever he is wouldn't be a matter "you knew he would be...but he's also" speculation by his 6th season.
#2, he's averaging 4.2 PPG and .7 ORPG. That hardly warrants a positive discussion of his offense.
