Again, I love the new look (global) lighting. If it's NBA 2k14 next gen 2.0, im fine with that, because that to me was near perfect.

His body is a bit off... looking kinda chunky... haha

Yeah, as a 2K16 modder, the body stuff became pretty clear. Anyone who edits bodies has know about that. Really shady on 2K's part.

By the way, sorry I haven't been able to get 4K screenshots so far this year. 2K hasn't uploaded them for the press so far.

I actually always only thought they were 'scanning' the skin - as in texture (tattoos, skin imperfections, ...).

It seems to be something that hasn't been communicated well enough to date.

I noticed that there seems to be a mistake made by the 2K developers:



If you look closely you can see the detailmap of some other text. I can barely make it out but I think it says Cleveland.

Not bad, just you know they could have added some more body types this year. NBA 2K14 looked really good and 15 had some good faces but have horrible body types, and 16 combines both. The lighting in 14 just blew me away along with the faces

This kinda looks like NBA Live, which is a good thing when it comes to graphics.

Yeah, looks like wrong bump map and texture combination. That can happen, at least it's a jersey from the same team.

Take these texture sizes, the first is from 2K14, the second is from 2K16. Imagine trying to make a face from scratch with all those extra pixels. I know these guys are professionals, and get paid a lot of money to do it but it's very difficult considering you're probably not going to get a face scan and your reference images are from the 90's which are bad quality anyway.

i dont think that the original image has the same size as the final game texture. so that shouldnt be a problem for the developer.

Why are 2K giving everyone the same body types. So far every screenshot everyone has the default body type which makes them look so chubby.

I agree about the body types... but again... I can't help but notice the awesome lighting. THAT looks way better.

Looks like nba live and 2k joined forces artwise.

The hair is pretty much spot on, but something about his face doesn't look quite right.

I'm going to stop posting any more opinions until I see some actual, good quality gameplay footage. Haha. These screenshots are messing with my head.

I pre-ordered the game (with no regrets), but I am getting antsy because I want to see actual gameplay footage....

Not sure why they would show that screenshot to "show off" the game... that confuses me. That isn't very impressive at all.

Well if it's similar then it wouldn't matter as much with the gameplay, like 2K13 and Last gen 2K14 combined
