Seriously, let it go. It's a game and like most games it has its faults and there is only so much audio that they can put in there.

The tweets themselves aren't really worth making a whole thread about, but I would agree that a lot of the presentation features detract from the experience as they're inaccurate or waste time. When you spend $60 on an updated version of the same game every year, things like this are worth nitpicking. 2K has been so good with attention to detail, so I could see them making improvements in this area.

Shame the thread got so ugly.

I made a thread about it. It's worth it to me, so I did it.

The point is the presentation elements detract from the experience. It would be better to remove them. Reviewers play the game for a few minutes. They don't notice the repetition, the commentary that has no bearing on the game or season situation, all the problems. So they write "it's so real you can't tell it from real NBA basketball".

You do realise that reviewers have a rather small window for their reviews to remain relevant, right? This really doesn't give them a chance to experience the repetition within the game because they're working to a deadline. Also, when you factor in that they have to talk about gameplay, the different modes, the graphics and every other detail within the game, they might not have the time to fixate on the presentation.

I don't disagree with the premise that the presentation gets repetitive; I will give you that, because it does. I will even concede the point that some of it is useless. In fact, I tend to phase most of it out now because I know it generally doesn't add anything to my experience. However, the notion that the presentation detracts from immersion purely because the recap tweets aren't tailored towards your specific game situations... that's where I think this thread is absurd.

That's not it. The issue is that the senseless tweets are one element of many that not only don't add to the experience, but detract from the experience.

Ditch them. Get rid of them. Until they can be customized to fit a game situation, remove them.

In a MyLeague, Analysts asked if Russel can rise to Kobe's level and pull his team back to prominence. That's after a different player led the Lakers to four NBA finals in a row, winning the first three times. It makes no sense. It's pre-canned based on a situation that exists now in the real NBA, but not in the future in a MyLeague.

Reviewer: "This car gets an A+ for reliability."

"But after 100 miles, the engine falls out."

Reviewer: "We only have time to test drive it for 100 miles. The engine doesn't fall out within that mileage. So the A+ stands."

"But last year's model had the same problem. Why don't you check if it's resolved in this year's model?"

Reviewer: "We only test drive for 100 miles. A+ for reliability."

Just want to throw this out here.

#1 - To bring up Trump or anything political in a NBA 2K17 section is really annoying. And your comparison to a video game tweet makes no sense.

#2 - However, because it's now been brought up. let me say a few things. To say that "Hillbilly Motherfuckers" impacted the electoral vote to get Trump in is also crazy. You do realize that both candidates are corrupt as hell right and part of a corrupt system? And that the choice was not that of the people regardless, those were not the two candidates we wanted up there, lets not act like we had any damn control over what the hell happened. Christ, the "protests" have been proven to be mostly paid protests (Ads on Craigslist asking for organized protests, for money, in most every damn city there was a protest). Keep thinking that we are helping make the decisions of who gets placed into office, those decisions are made in advance. Also to Arcane, I find your post pretty insulting, I am not a supporter of any of the candidates who ran, but your wording is shitty. And for the moderators who feel this post is insulting, please see the guy who called the guy who posted a hillbilly motherfucker.

#3 - fjjcommish - Where I do agree with others, is that your complaint does NOT deserve a thread. This complaint, and several others you made (mentioned above) are so petty I can't even believe it. I feel like handing you a copy of NBA 2k9 to see if you can enjoy yourself for even 5 minutes without nitpicking every little thing wrong with it. The amount of options/detail/authenticity we get with these games are basically unmatched in the industry. It's an amazing VIDEO GAME experience, and a solid simulation. Spend your time complaining about gameplay issues you see that could be improved in either a patch or 2k18.

Lastly, to Arcane again. I don't know you personally, and I don't see you post on here often. And I am sure you have a reason for your opinions, as do I. But to lash out on someone as a hillbilly motherfucker, and stereotype the crap out of someone who made a petty complaint about a game and just said the name "Trump", is absolutely insane. All of this Trump/Clinton political garbage pits the population against eachother, creating unnecessary labels, name calling, stereotyping, racism, bigotry, etc... Stop that nonsense, you are completely falling into the media propaganda trap. That's what creates the damn divide.

I would actually like to see this thread deleted off of this section, because I don't want anybody thinking that this is what NLSC is about, or that people with actual titles on here act like that or even lash out.

I don't think that analogy is as clever as you think it is. You're comparing an engine - something a car cannot run without - to 2K's presentation elements, something that no matter how repetitive, will not crash your game to a complete stand still. If you're going to compare presentation elements to something on a car, wouldn't it be more accurate to compare it with the car's paint job?

I know that's a nitpick, but damn, isn't that what this whole thread is about now?

That, and the mysterious fouls that always happen when a guy is driving, and you don't even press the steal button.. and your guy goes for a steal anyway and the offensive player flails his arms and gets to the line.

It's pretty frustrating when you play great defense for 20 seconds, and your opponent drives uncontrollably into traffic and that happens.

I swear this happened to me once. I was standing along the left sideline (I was in the game) and once the ball got thrown in my player ran 3/4 of the way across the court and wrapped his arms around the ball handler for a foul......and I hadn't touched anything on the controller for my player to start moving. In fact, when my player took off I tried moving the stick the opposite direction but he kept right on going.
