George in the USA jersey likely means olympics. Could also mean an injury storyline in myCareer

Can't wait to see someone with my face break their leg

It certainly has to mean something, because with 2K16 didn't they have to edit out the words North Carolina from the MJ jersey in an image? Which means they need rights to the jersey/team likeness. That means they have the license from FIBA.

So if FIBA is a possibility, would you see 2K go for a big roster from the start with 20+ FIBA teams, or start small with 6-8 teams and then add some more over the years ?

I'm inclined to think so, too.

The more the merrier, but if FIBA teams are in the game and they've only been able to license 6-8, then I have no problem with that either. It's a current NBA game first and foremost, and stuff like Euroleague, FIBA, even the historical NBA teams to some extent, is all bonus content. It's understandable if it's not a priority, and built up a few steps at a time.

FIBA might be an 8 man tourney of some sort for the olympics this year in Rio, based on the number of current NBA players on the teams
USA
Canada
Spain
France
Germany
Russia
Brazil
Argentina

That's an idea. The Boomers should be in there, though; there's
more Aussies in the league this season than Argentinian and Russian players combined.

Damn, Kyrie is an Aussie?
Also, 'Nikola' seems to be a favorite name in Montenegro.
BTW why did they list Tim Duncan? He was representing US if I recall correctly.

Born in Australia, moved to the US of A when he was 2. He has no reason to play for Australia as he was raised in the States, to sum up his words from an interview. He is american as your french fries.
Fri Jun 03, 2016 7:46 pm
Yeah that explains it. Though the chips aren't mine, too many carbs.
Fri Jun 03, 2016 8:12 pm
He's already opted to play for the USA rather than Australia and has dual citizenship (as far as I'm aware), so it's technically correct but kind of a cheat to list him there. Even taking him off the list however, Australia has one of its largest ever NBA contingents.

You're correct

(I have Montenegrin origins, but i'm not Nikola)
Remember that 2K have Euroleague licence, so maybe there will be more teams. It would be cool to see Serbia in game, especially because Serbia is silver medalists on World Cup in Spain.

Those are different licenses, but it's certainly possible there will be more teams. Of course, it should be noted that it hasn't been confirmed yet that there will be any FIBA teams, though we do have reason to speculate.

Drummond and KAT will be on thr cover as well. There will be 7 cover athletes.
From the pictures, I can say that 4th will be Jimmy Butler.
Tue Jun 07, 2016 7:16 pm
Kyrie, KD, Green (though even Kevin Hart can beat him in the 3pt shootout), PG, Drummond, Butler and KAT.

Nba 2k20 cover: all 450 NBA players.
Bryce Cotton's mother will be proud.
Thu Jun 09, 2016 5:39 am
Why was everyone in the back faded out except KAT?
Thu Jun 09, 2016 6:17 am
They were going to reveal them one by one (officially Kyrie and Green aren't announced yet).
But people found out who the players are - they apparently reused some photos (when was Drummond still using #1?).
Thu Jun 09, 2016 6:18 am
The only smiles are coming from Irving and Green, both guys who are in the finals.

LOL, 2K has money to burn at this point

Looks like Danilo Gallinari is going to be on the cover of the Italian version of the game. Cool to see one of my Nuggets on there.
Confirmed by Danilo himself:

Yup, they seem to continue the trend of putting relevant international players on covers to perhaps promote the game there.
So... is Brazil getting Marcelo Huertas on the cover?
Fri Jul 22, 2016 1:01 pm
Huertas probably shouldn't wait by the phone for that call.

Pau Gasol will rock the Cover of NBA 2K17 in Spain.
