NBA 2K17 - Leaked Screenshots / Ghetto Gameplay

I don't care what anyone says, 2k's faces are great.

I think it's pretty obvious that their current face scanning technique is pretty damn good, as you can see with most of the new rookies. It just seems that a big percentage of active players don't get rescanned regularly, which makes for some inconsistent quality throughout the game.
I agree that their newest players look great. Dunn, Hield, etc.

If they could scan their actual bodies and have that represented in the final 3D model, there'd be zero complaints left when it comes to player likenesses. I reckon we'll get there with time.

I don't think they do scan bodies of everyone, as they leaked Dwyane Wade last year getting his body scanned, and Konami's PES just uses ordinary professional cameras to do Neymar, and just a lot photos will work as reference to sculpt the bodies. They probably did for a template, unlike my acquainted Live 08 only has Thin, Medium, and Thick, along with No Muscle, Muscular, and Cut.

I'm pretty sure these infamous body scans of recent years were done for texturing purposes only, not for any 3D models as one would be inclined to assume.

Something that should be noted about face scans is that they aren't mandatory for 2K or Live; they're at the individual player's discretion, and reliant on their availability. As such, if a player decides they don't want to take time out to be scanned, or they're unable to make themselves available because of a vacation or other offseason commitments - or the fact that they're in another country - that's just the way it is.

I'm not getting my hopes up too much about the story this year, though the whispers so far have suggested it's better than last year. Of course, that's not saying much.

From what I've seen (just looked real quick, I'm at work right now), the "house" is MyCourt with some extra equipment.

But what caught my attention more is the fact that you apparently can have training session on game days? Like around 10 am. Pretty good change, because in 2K16 I thought "so I can't do anything during a game day?".

Finally 2K has fixed John Wall's face.

That one skinny body type is the problem, everything else is alright.

The only guy that fits that model is Ingram, nobody else should be given that. Unfortunately some players that are supposed to be "lanky" are given that shitty skinny model. It looks especially stupid on Giannis, the guy is jacked as fuck in real life.

All the new animations make the game look very fresh.
The passing and receiving looks way quicker. that's something that really bothered me about 2k15 and 2k16, it was too slow, it was hard get swift ball movement happening.
If the game feels as good as it looks, i couldn't care less about body types.

That's awful. He plays with zero basketball IQ and it makes the game look bad.

Also, that 2k camera isn't very flattering i gotta admit. It makes the game look like 2k15

I'm still confident the game will be good but my hype is fading now.
This is probably why they don't release gameplay videos in their marketing campaign.

All the animations in THIS video look the same as NBA 2k16. I actually didn't see one new one (That driving contact layup on the fastbreak where the player gets under the guy was the exact same as NBA 2k16). Paul George Jump shot from 10 looked glitchy, he stopped to pull up and he went into a separate animation that looked like he traveled when he elevated). The contact with players as they dribble looks the same, and I saw a body steal on a spin move (That should have been a turnover though, he turned right into two players).

I tried to pay attention to the defensive AI to see if there were any changes. A couple possessions Demarcus Cousins looked really confused (Started running into the paint for some reason, and than tried to correct himself out to three) That would have an easy wide open three with someone who was experienced and knew when to exploit it. My biggest problem with 2k16 is the defensive AI, they always got lost and always got backdoored. I am really hoping that is fixed this year.

The lighting is definitely different in that 50 minute gameplay video. Remember, every court has different lighting, so some will be more similar to 2k16 than others.

Damn this looks super nice. I get the feeling of 15 and 16 watching this. I also like the little NBA Live feeling too. The cutscenes are 500% better, like last year it was pure bullshit, as you were in a black family, (but fortunatly my MC was black), and it got old, and it took away too much of my playing time. Plus you go straight into College rather than HS, which is way better and quicker. Its got better lighting, and I enjoy that. Hope the PC modders could find a way around Kevin Durant's long-ass thin arms. Plus I need a cheap and strong PC soon

PROS:

Rebounding looks improved.
Blocks are superb.
That windmill alley-oop of the glas was insane.

CONTRAS:

That Curry-hop step animation it is about to be a problem.
Size-up signatures moves look to quick?
Animations are of-course more manual to users but I feel this causes the game to look more like NBA Live animations?
CPU offense IQ it is not as improved as I would like it to be, Shumpert just stopped for a jumpshot in an open fastbreak, wtf..

I'm wondering if this is it for how Team USA will be integrated into MyCareer. One scrimmage against the only other national team that's been confirmed for the game so far. I hope there's more to it than just a scrimmage. Especially if I play MyCareer to the summer of 2020. It will be odd not to have the option to play for Team USA in 2020 if MyPlayer is one of the best players in the league and was already invited to a scrimmage in 2016.

Damn, those niggas cant even talk properly, not to mention how they play the game. Yet they get the game early every year and make the game look bad.

Looks good overall. I really like that passing is faster. Ball movement is going to be more fun & rewarding this year (until they patch it lol). The bodies look a bit funny but everybody else has already touched on that enough.
