NBA 2K17 - Companion App (Confirmed Face Scan Feature)

So it looks like Karl Anthony Towns is going to be on the cover of the companion app this year.

Also face scanning is a confirmed feature on the companion app. The question is, is it going to be compatible for the PC? I would assume so.

Given face scan feature is available on PC (with that Intel camera), I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be.

So KAT may be next year's cover athlete if history repeats.

Wait, so that means I won't need PlayStation camera for face scan?

Simple: "Yes, you can still use PS camera" was enough.

Operation Sports have confirmed that face scanning is PS4 and X1 only. That's very unfortunate.

I know I'll feel bad about that. The only issue is that 2K face scans aren't really as good, and I won't be playing as myself, and I'll be better off sculpting my face.

Remember 2K15

And so the PC version falling by the wayside begins.

We need to come to a point where we got the Perfect Base-Game. So we can Mod the Game and ignore new Releases. Like PES6 was back then, I played that for like 4 Years and always updated the Rosters etc with Mods.
Since most NBA2K PC Players are from Europe or China, 2K gives a flying fuck about us.

If the 144FPS Bug is not fixed this Year, I'm going fucking mad!

To be fair, people have been saying that for like 7 years. And it has lasted to this point, and still gets ported over.

Reiterating what I said on this week's Podcast, I'm wondering if it has anything to do with a deal with Intel, since they did add face scanning to NBA 2K16 PC, but only for laptops and all-in-ones with a RealSense camera.

I never said it wasn't going to be ported. I said it would start falling by the wayside just like it had been before 2K15. Prior to 2K15, PC got half of the content that the consoles got.

I didn't say you said it wasn't going to ported. My point is PC started falling by the wayside loooong ago. So I'm surprised you expected more.

Up until 2K15, yes. 2K15 and 2K16 were very different, though. The PC version in the last two games have had parity. It seems to be changing, though. This could be a sign of things to come.

I still think it's more a sign that there's some kind of deal with Intel, but I suppose we can only wait and see, and hope for the best.

Tweeted LD2K and Ronnie to no response, It'll be interesting to see the quality of the scans. 2K's create a player with the PS camera and kinect kind of look like clay models

Sometimes a mixture of facial expressions and video compression don't do faces justice, too.
