There should be a loyalty Bonus. If you owned previous games you should be able to transfer your VC. That should actually be a given since we aren't talking about you wanting to exchange your money from the days of Soviet Russia into Euro. VC is VC is VC so the only reason why they would not transfer your earning is greed. There is no other reasonable explanation for why they won't allow you to do that. You can't even trot out the fairness argument. How is it unfair to reward players who have spend hundreds of hours on previous games by transfering their VC while new players have to earn their VC like the older players?
The second thing, like you rightly pointed out should either be a VC Bonus equivalent to the amount of VC it costs to level up to say 80 or simply a system that reads out your career save and then transfers an adjusted rating onto your new player. It costs them nothing and would gain them a lot especially since Madden and MLB the Show have been offering continued Franchise Modes and continued Career Modes for their last 3-5 installments even across old gen and new gen.
Let me have my earned VC and give me a boost pack for MyCareer as well as a boost pack to MyTeam for returning players and save the MyPark player including his stats and his rep and I'll stop complaining and I think a lot of the cheating would stop as well since people will actually see that it's worth the grind. Why not grind? You'll end up with 2.000.000 VC in a year or two and those VC will stay with you. I'd happily grind 200-400 hours if I know I get to keep my VC in the next game and the one after and the one after that.
I'll totally support this =) Just for clarification - I understand your point and I think it's pretty fair. If I doesn't agree with it - it's only my opinion so who cares
I said about splitting 2 modes: MyCAREER and Online modes like MyPARK and Pro-AM about year or two ago (before 2K16 if I remember correctly). Maybe with ability to play in MyPARK with your MC player if you want but this shouldn't be mandatory. And upgrade of your MC player shouldn't be for VC at all. Only training facilities. If you want to spend some real money into your player you can buy personal trainer or any other additional stuff\drills to increase upgrade speed. But not the upgrades themselves.
I really like loyalty program in Mass Effect series. If you played in ME1 and you starting to play in ME2 then you can just take your previous save from 1st part and give it to 2nd part. And ME2 saves all your decisions from previous part, you starts with lvl10 (or so doesn't remember) with some inventory from previous part. The same when you moving from 2nd to 3rd part. In NBA 2K series they can take your previous MyCareer settings by themselves. They doesn't need you at all (as all information about ratings and anthropometry already in their bases). So that's a good point that if for example I had 2 players in 2K16's MC: C and SF, then when I'm starting 2K17' MS they move my players with the same anthropometry, animations and so on, multiplying all their ratings to some number (i.e. 0.7 if I had 1 of the previous games: 2K16, 2K15, 2K14 etc., 0.75 if I had 2 of them, 0.85 if I had 3 of more of them) and one spot for new MC career can be free so you can start new one from the scratch if you like to. In this case we'll have couple of our previous well known players with 65-70-75-80 ratings (depends of how good they were in last game and how many previous games you have had), some free spot for starting from the very beginning and all our previous VC from last year that we can invest to MyPark\Pro-AM person, to upgrade our previous player to some decent 85-90 ovl or to the new player that can became 75-85 ovl with brand new animations, dunks, shoes, clothes using that 100-150K VC from 2K16.
