G-Sync or V-Sync not working

Have my monitor capped to 72hz so the game should run at 72 fps; however it's running at 120+ fps. Turn vsync on in game or in control panel doesn't work either. Someone has this same issue?

I don't have it installed man, should it be neccessary? If someone with a G-Sync monitor could tell me if it's working for him I would discard a game issue. BTW, my monitor is 144hz but I have it capped to 72 in Nvidia Control Panel. It seems that this cap is not working at all and the game tries to reach those 144 fps.
