How does the cap system work?

Thu Oct 13, 2016 10:27 am

Can someone explain to me how the cap system works? I heard somewhere that every player has 75 caps unlocked from the start and "doin work" can unlock up to 10 more. Something also about playing mypark will then allow you to unlock 5 more?

My problem is that I don't know how many caps of the 10 I've unlocked. My guess is that it's cloes to 8 or 9. I don't want to use up all my caps on the wrong categories only to realize, hey, I ran out of cap unlocks and cannot upgrade my layups/dunks. How can I tell how many unlocks I have left?

Since it's possible to max out your player at 99 Overall with enough grinding (and levelling up your MyPARK rep), I imagine it's possible to reach all of the caps in each of the categories through Doin' Work, which would be more than 10. I could be mistaken, but that's my understanding of how the caps work with the different archetypes.

Really? I definitely hope that you're right. Last year, I think we were only able to max out 7 of 8 categories. I remember leaving inside shooting/layups completely unimproved. The entire column was empty.

In order of priority, I always do:

1)speed/quickness/agility
2)defense
3)shooting
4)rebounding
5)layups/dunks

I certainly could be wrong, but that's my understanding of it at this time. As far as I know, there's no indicator of how many upgrades you've got left to earn, only how many you have available at any given time.
