Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble shooting in 2K17. I've never shot more air-balls then I have in 2K17. I use to shoot with the button more than the stick on 2K16, and was use to it either way. But on 17, I can't get the hang of shooting jump shots or layups when you have to use the left stick to control the direction of the shot. 2KU is great at explaining all the different controller moves to use, but I guess I need to practice them. What do you guys think of this new setup?

I still use the shoot button, it's just a quicker release now because the animations are smoother. I have a ton of success with the shoot button. On layups, I use both the stick and shoot button depending on what im doing. it's tough to time the layups, but you will get the hang of it. It really is about timing the layup (like a shot). Go into 2KU Freestyle and practice your shooting for awhile, you will get the hang of it.

I like the new Shot Meter in principle, although it does feel like I have more success on releases that are noticeably early, rather than releases that are a fraction off being perfect/green. I'm still using the Shoot button mostly, though I'm also giving the stick a try here and there. Same story for free throws.
I have more mixed feelings about the Shot Meter on layups. It's pretty unforgiving online, though it definitely works out a lot better in offline play, since there's no lag. Still getting used to it and in two minds about whether or not I really like that change, but I'd like to give it some more time.
