D43 Ultimate Classic Teams Roster - WIP (No date set)

Most don't know that I have a roster almost half finished for 2K16, which adds new classic teams and fills most of the old ones. The teams in this roster that are 100% complete right now (New teams)

10-11 Bulls
11-12 Thunder
08-09 Lakers
10-11 Mavericks
06-07 Nuggets
92-93 Suns
14-15 Warriors
08-09 Magic
15-16 Cavs
13-14 Spurs
13-14 Clippers
99-00 Pacers
05-06 Nets
11-12 Heat
94-95 Rockets

WIP

02-03 Wizards
82-83 76ers
07-08 Hornets
06-07 Mavericks
01-02 Kings

I may try and chip away at this and add more teams and do a formal release. Below is first half gameplay between the 08-09 Lakers vs 11-12 Thunder. I have the correct court, jerseys, faces, ratings, etc.

If I were to continue with this, many conversions for my 2K17 work would need to take place, which I have not explored yet. Also, would be nice to have a retro TNT and NBC scoreboard to go with this game. We had no scoreboard mods whatsoever.

I released an Ultimate Fantasy Draft Roster for this game, and just re-released it recently. I also just released V2 of my UCTR for 2K17, and V1 of the UFDR and UATR. So I obviously release big projects, however this one really does only carry like a 50-50 chance. At the moment teams need to be renamed during the season because we haven't figured out how to do it in CE yet, and I am not sure what can be converted at the moment.

IMO 2K15 (hard to mod) and 16 are the best 2K on current gen (at least on PC).
I thought you didnt like it, so I am surprised, but pleasantly surprised that you want to mod this game now.
Be sure i will track this topic ;)

I tried last year to make scoreboard for 2K16, but unfortunately i cant opened scoreboard in blender. I asked Trevor who kindly tried to help me, in vain.

I actually loved 2K15, but we didnt have the modding tools yet. I played the most myteam on 2K15 out of any other 2K.

2K16 was a mixed bag for me, and partly because I was playing on a slightly outdated PC at the time. Going back and playing it now, it's more reactive and enjoyable than I remember.

Also, in that game, my two brothers and I got 75 games into a season all playing against eachother with our own teams (so a total of like 225 games played between the 3 of us). Its the furthest the 3 of us have ever gone in a season in any 2k. My brother Nick and I have finished several on last gen, though.

2K16 has better gameplay overall than 2K20 for me.

Making progress on Reggie Miller

I can't figure out conversions from 2K17, but I am using the actual Reggie Miller texture from that game. 99-00 Pacers will be in this release.

Sticky just created an amazing TNT wipe, and I have a TNT scoreboard (kinda) that I made (That replaces the 2K sports logo with the TNT logo). But, I would die for atleast one accurate TNT scoreboard for this game. Unfortunately, I don't think anybody figured it out.

I've been messing with sliders for this game, and realized that I should have messed with them more in the past. 2 of my biggest complaints were:

1. Protected shots - So many seemed to happen, even when clear blue sky on a shot was present

Fix: Change the shot defense (Strength/gather) to 32, and less protected shots seem to happen, and shooting looks and feels more realistic when being semi-guarded

2. Sluggish/stuck in the mud feel - Players felt pretty heavy, and slow

Fix: Up the game speed to 55, and place the acceleration at 60. Players actually feel light, and the game becomes more reactive on defense, fastbreaks, driving, etc

I like 2K17's dribbling feel overall a bit more, and I do believe that 2K17 has overall better feel. However, one major advantage that 2K16 has over 2K17 is defense. The A.I is smarter, they don't get backdoored all the time, they don't "move out of the way" as much, and transition defense is much smarter. The biggest issue on defense for 2K16, is the trailer three (Big man trailing the play being open). However, in human vs CPU or human vs human gameplay, you can easily just make it a point to close out on that guy.

So, like Sticky said, I really wasn't very fond of 2K16 when it was new. However, with those slider tweaks, and the fact that I have new hardware (Better graphics card and processor), the game actually feels REALLY good, and feels sim. Those are my motivations for working on this roster. And, I prefer the gameplay of 2K16 and 2K17 over 2K20.

While I still plan on working on the 2K20 roster, this one will also be worked on at the same time. The defense in 2K16 is MUCH smarter (and overall better) than 2K20, the footplanting and player movement is more realistic, and graphically I find it overall more appealing.

Some roadblocks with 2K16

1. I can't seem to figure out how to convert faces from 2K17 and 2K18: This would be incredibly helpful, as I could bring all of my work from those games over
2. Team names - I currently don't have a cheat table in this game, but should be able to figure out how to change the team names. But, arena names and other cheat engine items I have not figured out yet
3. Portraits - We never had a "keep portraits" option, so I have to overwrite current players on each current teams in order for players to keep them
4. Euro teams - Right now they are the dumping grounds, and hopefully I can figure out in cheat engine how to remove them from the roster.

2 - It works ... but i didnt remember how, i did that months ago.

About gameplay, this game is the best 2K on PC, best balance, best AI, best graphics.

BTW you should try to downgrade your game to 2K16 v1.0, it's even better IMO.

ps : What's your new PC components ?

Not worth it for me, plus 1080p is awesome as it is.

Made an 11-12 Westbrook, as all we really had for 2K16 was the default Westbrook (Which wasn't very good at all)

The entire head shape is different. Look at how long and bloated the one on the right looks, and look at the face shape on the left including the different jaw, not as long of a face, more sunken in cheeks, higher cheekbones, ears, and eyes (shape and width apart) etc

How can you honestly look at those two and not see ANY difference..

The headshapes are very different. I used the same texture they used because Its not the worst texture, his headshape is just wrong (and placements of certain features)
