Tough choice. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I'd suggest the presence of Vince and White Chocolate does make the 2010 team more fun for a video game, even though they weren't as successful in real life as the 2009 squad.

This roster will get the bulk of my time, as I have discontinued my roster for 2K20.

Older game? sure.
Anybody creating or created a roster like this for 2K16? no.
Do I enjoy the gameplay more on this game? yes.
Do I enjoy the graphics more on this game? yes.
Do my brothers enjoy this game more? YES.

If any cyberface creators want to come out of the woodwork and make some faces for the project, please reach out to me or comment on here. I have some team idea's, but at the moment 2K17 to 2K16 cyberface conversions are not possible, and I need a few more faces in general.

I can make some faces, but I am not as talented at it as many who do it here on the forum.

All teams I add will have correct floors, and correct or mostly correct jerseys (I will do my best). I wish I had a cheat table in this game like I did on 2K17, because I could probably just use the euro team slots if I did (I know how to add players to the euro teams to get them to 13, but unlocking hidden teams is key for that to happen). As it is right now, I am overwriting current teams.

Let me know if anybody wants to help out. I know PeacemanNOT probably isn't interested in modding a 4 year old game (Jerseys), and I am sure the common consensus is that most modders would rather just mod the new game, which is also understandable.

Working on missing faces for the roster.

Made Tony Battie and Anthony Johnson for the 08-09 Magic. I figured out a few other things in Blender, so I'll be able to make some better quality faces. Certainly don't think anybody will be on board for helping out for a 4 year old game.

08-09 Magic and 10-11 Bulls are 100% done.

All default classic teams with the exception of 6 are filled.

Now the 13-14 Spurs and the 99-00 Pacers.

Note: I will ENTERTAIN an 08-09 complete season roster when this is finished, depending on how many teams that I have which hover around that timeframe.

These rosters are a TON of work. It took me about 4 hours to finish the 10-11 Bulls ratings, tendencies, badges, signatures, vitals, etc. That doesnt even include the time converting the proper floor, importing the portraits, making the portraits, cheat engine work to change team names, audio IDs, etc, going into 2KU to make sure shots are accurate, simming to see how they produce in season, etc. Each team is a huge time suck, but it's worth it when they come out accurate.

I know it probably seems odd that the newest game is 2K20, and I spend all my time modding 2K16 and 2K17. However, with Thunder Shaq doing his roster for 2K20 with basically all the same teams I was going to add or added in 2K17, and the fact that I enjoy the gameplay on 2K16 and 2K17 FAR more (as do my brothers), I figured why not keep modding these two games. Much smaller audience, but I've never modded for clout or attention anyway.

Hopefully the few that are still playing this game love this mod when its released.

I updated games like NBA Live 96, NBA Live 2005-08, and now NBA 2K11 years after they were current, so I totally get the appeal!

Can't believe how fast the last 10 years have gone by.... it's a strange feeling. Makes you hope the next 10 years slows down a little....

Really makes you feel old when you realize that almost all the players you grew up watching are no longer in the league and in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

Well it's funny, I still watch a lot of the now NBA, but I dont have the same connection with the players and teams. The players/teams dont have "identities" like they used to IMO (game wise or personality wise), not saying they are exactly the same as eachother, but very few players draw me in with playstyle or attitude/personality. The rules themselves, and the playstyles of most teams, are more frustrating to watch than enjoyable.

The league has changed, for sure (and not for the better IMO), its part of why I like to hold onto a time or times when I enjoyed the NBA product, athletes, and teams more.

Luckily, we can use modding as a way to look back, and even "simulate" some of those teams, players and years via gaming.

Created Bryon Russell for 2K16 (I couldn't convert the one from 2K18)

I think it came out really good, honestly. It took AWHILE to sculpt his face properly and find a good base.




Might do a few more touchups on it, but overall I am happy with it. I have to create quite a few faces right now that we are missing for this roster, so it's a tall task to tackle.
