i do wish we had a bit more of the hound. just fucking put him into every scene. it does not even need to make sense. have him be the winterfell guard and then have him helping theon bring the boat out of the water. after that he is a dothraki. does it make sense? nope but who cares its the hound

As long as Rory McCann gets an adequate pay raise, of course.

I just watched last week's episode, I did not have access until last night. It's a good thing I was not spoiled.

Ok, for this week, I'm guessing Jaime will start to realize Cersei's weighing him down. I still believe he's one of the most well-written characters.

Over the weekend, I was talking to a friend about how this season is shaping up, and they opined that Dany is going to go full-on bad. After the execution of the Tarlys this week, it felt like they're inching closer and closer to that being a distinct possibility, though the later scenes with Jon were obviously meant to soften her up again. Looks like they're building up that romance as well, or certainly teasing it. If that record that Gilly found is any indication, Jon is also a legitimate Targaryen.

We finally see Gendry again! I loved Davos' line about him still rowing. That had to be a nod to the popular joke in the fandom that that's what he's been doing all this time, since the character has been absent for so long. I enjoy stuff like that, because it works on both levels.

Looks like Littlefinger has played Ayra, using her own justified suspicions against her. I guess they had to make him look diabolical and in control again after seemingly being taken down a peg in the previous episode. If only she knew how to assassinate and impersonate people, you know...

Definitely a bit of a hangover episode after last week but I got a full throner as the fellowship of Westwros headed north of the wall as the episode concluded. Next week looks to be another thriller.

Do we think Cersei is actually pregnant or just using it as a mechanism to control jamie?

This week's episode felt longer than it actually was with all of the stuff that happened. I understand why people complain by the Fast Travel this season, but there's no way they're gonna pace the show currently with all of the episodes left.

Davos is currently my favorite character.

Also, from an article on IGN, a Reddit user was able to post the letter Arya found on Littlefinger's room:

The Letter Arya found on Littlefinger's Room wrote:"Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark."

The Fast Travel stuff makes for some good image macros which I enjoy, but I'm fine with it. Aside from the season being abbreviated, if there's nothing noteworthy about the journey, there's no need to show it. Conservation of detail. It wouldn't be the first time that the show's timeline - as depicted on screen - has been a bit ambiguous in terms of the order of events and how long some of them have taken to play out. Things that happen off-screen like the Brotherhood Without Banners heading north and being captured suggest that Jon's return trip did indeed take a while, because those other things were happening in the background. In any event, I'm enjoying the pacing this season, especially with fewer episodes.

So, are we to assume that the letter is a forgery, or simply Littlefinger digging up some ancient history that will drive Sansa and Arya apart?

I'm thinking the latter, it could be during Sansa's time with the Lannister's on King's Landing, and she might have been forced to write that letter to Robb.

I'm fine with it too. There were moments in previous seasons where I thought the travels felt too long and dragged out.

Good point.

Backing up to the question of Cersei being pregnant or not, I'm guessing that she is. I'd say it also makes it quite clear she fully intends to stab Euron in the back, though that's not exactly a shocking twist.

It is my understanding that this is the letter that Cersei had her write in Season 1 (I have no recollection of this, but read it on Twitter, and don't think it's a spoiler, but better safe than sorry I guess).

Also, yes, the fast travel is a zillion times better, and very welcome.

Leak was apparently from HBO Spain where they 'accidentally' released the upcoming episode for viewing. No haxxors to blame here.

Same. I'm more interested in the little barely noticeable things they managed in that episode which could have an effect later on or in the final season.
