Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

As the topic says, how about showing eachother what kind of set up (computer/desk/office) everyone's working with? I'm still busy setting up a new one myself, so I'll be posting pics shortly.
Do people still have desktops? Or is everyone on a note/net book? Surround sound? Multi-displays? Share!

I don't have any photos readily available and can't be bothered getting the digital camera out at this time but I'm still using a desktop with a lone LCD monitor, sitting on a desk that I must've had for about seventeen years now. I've got my printer on a shelf above the desk along with a couple of CD racks and some books. A couple of speakers but nothing fancy, they get the job done though.

I have an old laptop to go on the Internet, but I mostly use my desktop for gaming purposes. I have a 22" widescreen LCD along witha huge computer case (my video card itself is almost 11" long, so no choice), with blinking blue lights all over, it's like a fucking UFO in the dark. I have a 5.1 speaker system to go with it, and all of that is on a regular corner desk. I'll post some pix later on.

Believe it or not, I'm still using a 19'' CRT monitor on my desk. (I posted that I got an LCD monitor for christmas, but I'm using it for my 360.)
I'm still satisfied with the monitor, sometimes it just shuts down randomly and you gotta tap it on the top then it works again.
The desktop PC is on the right. You figure I don't have a whole lot space on my desk left, just enough to do some work. Left to the monitor is a USB hub and a card reader.
I got a shelf two feet above with my PC games.
A speaker on each side, on the left one is a cactus.
But you really don't wanna see a pic it, it's a shithole.

=( Guess this won't be as good of a thread as I anticipated.
Anyways, this is me.

And why do you think you set your room up that way? Some insecurity?

I've got an old computer. with an old monitor and an old tv. lol.
only thing new is the stuff that I download.
oh and I use the boxes of a 11 year old stereo for my sound system.

First I wanted to laugh, then I saw you actually posted one post before his, so now I'm pretty much just scared.

I've still got a CRT monitor that's in a great condition and working fine but it just takes up too much space on the desk, which is one of the reasons I bit the bullet and bought my LCD monitor about three or four years back. That, and I'd just started at a new job where all the PCs had LCD monitors and I'd developed a taste for them, as it were.

for those suffering from dejavu / want to see my last college and my room at my parent's house setups
viewtopic.php?p=781154#p781154Now for where I am now
The Computer Setup

(I am using a video background, don't shit over the fact that it moved)
Rest of living room with evil kitten and, um, curious licking kitten

Curious Licking kitten 2 makes an appearance (and so does Homer)

Evil Kitten was wondering what the hell I was doing

and random, horrible, pic of my dart board down there. Note that the cardboard "protected" the wall, well, scotch tape fails
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i250/ ... IM0690.jpgmade that more of a Cribs post, maybe I'll bump that thread later after I clean up some more. (aka, when Kathryn cleans up some more

)

A very nice, I like your desk, I wish my room was suited for a corner type desk.
Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:08 pm
That's my problem, I don't really have the space for a better setup than the one I have.
Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:55 pm
Okay I'm posting my set-up, I'm thinking about openining the Crib thread but starting a second one. Should be interesting. I use a table with my laptop basically. I wanna show you guys my whole house again, and apparantly so does Jao. We re-did my house so it'll be different.

If you notice on the floor I have my Air Jordan III

Two computers, and a shitty kids desk. I've got to get a new one. If you look on the right, you see two mice on top of a few books that are stacked on one of my computers because there is no way to use the mouse on the desk without being in some awkward position. Cables, cables, everywhere!

wow, Jao has a moster set ups!

Your desk is pretty awesome though, very neat corner.

buzzy its not an animal, its a popular figurine/cariacture from the SW part of the states, one of my excoworkers had a tatoo of it.

Haha, that's actually Kokopeli, the god of harvest and prosperity for some native American tribes (the Hopis or the Anasazis I believe) that's very popular in the Southwest, mostly in New Mexico (it's one of the state's symbols).
